Cally led Nadia up, after fetching some aspirin and a couple cartons of ice cream, and deposited her on a couch with one of the cartons, a spoon, and the aspirin.

"Ta-da," she said. "Seriously, how could life get any better, huh? I mean, other than a foot massage. Which I guess if you really want you could convince me."

Cally smiled up at Nadia. "I don't have a frakking clue what actually happened. You just sorta fell out of the sky. All naked. Which normally I would consider a dream come true, but you hit your head, which isn't so nice, you know?" She continued to massage the foot. "You shoulda seen your face when I told you about the licking."

Cally stuck her tongue out back at Nadia. "I thought it was funny, so ha."

"I wonder what we have pictures of, then?"

Cally coughed. "I have no idea," she said. "Probably should just wipe them and not worry about it."

"But now I'm all curious. Something had to have happened, right?"

"Yeah," Cally said. "I think a lot happened. But right now, I'm just more concentrating on why I haven't gotten you to react to the foot massage, yet. I've obviously lost some of my touch."

"I'm distracted. By ice cream and headache. You're doing very well, though."

"Thanks," Cally said, reaching up a bit to start on Nadia's ankles.

"So I was thinking about selling my Viper. On eBay."

"And I think you should keep working on it."

"I'm tryin', I'm tryin'," Cally said. "But I'm gonna hit the point where either I need to sell it, or I need to find a job."

"I bet Empire is hiring. . . ."

"Really?" Cally asked. "You think they'd hire me?"

"They hired me, and I tried to shoplift there."

"Wow," Cally said. "I guess. . . Huh. That'll be easy, then. Think I just have to ask? I can be very persuasive."

"Give it a shot. If Lucas turns you down, he'll at least be very nice about it."

"Frakkin' awesome," Cally said, smiling. She then poked her nose against Nadia's knee, smiling up at her. "How's the head?"

"Achy. But I'm pretty sure I'm not concussed again."

"Good," Cally said. "Nothing a good night's sleep won't cure. Which you should probably get plenty of. I wouldn't even stay up late enough to hear radio, If I was you. Sleep. Sleep good."

Nadia peered at her. "Why wouldn't I want to hear the radio?"

"Because it would keep you up far too late and you wouldn't get a proper night's sleep. That's all," Cally said. "Swear to the gods."

"Or it might tell you an incredibly biased version of what happened, filtered through insanity and possibly booze. And rabbits."

"There were rabbits?"
