Cally led Nadia up, after fetching some aspirin and a couple cartons of ice cream, and deposited her on a couch with one of the cartons, a spoon, and the aspirin.

"Ta-da," she said. "Seriously, how could life get any better, huh? I mean, other than a foot massage. Which I guess if you really want you could convince me."

[ooc: Open to all! But this is an EMO FREE room. We will throw glitter and ice cream at you, if necessary. Possibly glitter covered ice cream. Or ice cream covered glitter.]

Nadia waved happily. "There you are! We were gonna look all over for you!"

Walter waved back and it made him feel good to see her looking happy. "Here I am. How are you?"

Nadia shrugged. "I was naked and landed on my head and I might have a conclusion. You?"

"I was not naked and I have a few conclusions, including the one that you might have another concussion." But she was happy-looking, and he'd been gremlin-bit, so he stopped hovering in the door and came in.

"Ice cream for your concussion?"

"Cally took my spoon. But she gave me aspirations. Were you at the game? Did you see me? Was I a good mascot? I didn't really pretend to be the Tequila Cow, did I?"

"Do you have someone to watch you tonight? We can sit up and watch television here. Maybe we can find an AKA marathon and you can tell me where things are stupid. Except Mordechai, because he's brilliant."

"Mordechai is awesome. Cally told me not to listen to the radio, though. Oh! I could work on my story and we could hang out."

Walter nodded immediately. "The radio always tells such crazy stories. You know you can't really believe most of what they say."

This had damned well better not count as lying, because he was coming in and sitting down with Nadia and he was going to enjoy seeing her smiling and happy for a while.

"Brilliant. I'll sit with you now and in a little while I'll go get blankets and stuff so we can make this a proper campout. We can make forts with cushions and pillows."

"Why do we need forts? Is someone attacking?"

Nadia looked very carefully serious for a moment.

"Is it the gerbil armies?"

"Gerbil armies?" Walter looked confused but played along. "Maybe. I think they were annoyed by the way the weetiny bunnies claimed Fandom for themselves."

Nadia nodded. "That's why they fought over my clothes. Tactical maneuvers."

"Your clothes hold great strategic importance in the war against the weetiny bunnies."

"Yes. Yes they do."

Walter tugged at her sleeve and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I wonder what they were going to do with them? Are they part of a rodent arms race?"

Nadia smiled and leaned her achy head on his shoulder. "You think they were going to go after my arms, next?"

Much closer to normal. He put an arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head very carefully. "I think they were going to hold races up them. Two gerbils, one for each arm. Whichever makes it to your shoulder first, wins."

"That would tickle." Nadia closed her eyes and snuggled in, slightly.

It's possible she's forgotten about more than just being a gremlin, for the time being.

"Yes, but in the interest of gerbil peace, you'd have to hold still." Walter was willing to forget for a while, too.

"And then they'd give you a teeny tiny little crown as the bringer of gerbil world peace."

"I would not object to that," Nadia answered a little sleepily.

Walter might just have been thinking of how to get a teeny tiny little crown for Nadia while he shifted around to put one of the couch pillows on his lap and encourage Nadia to lie down.

"Get some rest. I'll sleep in a little while." In the morning.

If Nadia doubted his honesty on that one, she didn't say anything. Because frankly this was much too comfy.

She didn't fall asleep yet, though. "So where'd you go? Pippi said you were in the oven."

Walter brushed her hair away from her forehead. "I went to All and Sundries and then the park, and then I came back here. I'll tell you all about my day tomorrow. I promise, but you should get some rest now."

"For all I know I was resting all day. Is Ana Lucia Stephanopopolis Margot Frappuccinino Steve okay?"

Walter smiled down at her. "Anna's fine. I had a look at it this evening."

"Good. We should still make her a squirrel friend."
