The Gym; Late Tuesday Afternoon (post-workshops)

To say that Sakurazaki was a little nervous about this was an understatement. However, she knew that if she had rushed straight into the salle with her wings out to practise with Yuunagi, there could be trouble. She had to refamiliarize herself with her flight techniques slowly, by the use of the practise swords in the gym. Besides, there was much more room in the gym than down in the salle, so she'd have more space to work with, and it was much to hot to take it outside with a stick.

Sakurazaki was working on her tougher forms again, but this time, she was doing them in the air, in flight. And hoping that she hadn't missed some rule about such training. She figured she was at least out of everyone's way like this.

Walter wasn't there to beat someone up, unlike a certain Argentine they were both acquainted with. He took a few steps back and waited for Joxer to get to his feet again.

Joxer got to his feet and dusted himself off. "Lucky shot," he said, lunging forward, this time going for a headlock.

Had no one taught this guy any subtlety at all? Walter went to grab one of Joxer's arms for a hip toss.

Joxer ended up on his back again, Walter having thoroughly tossed him over.

Joxer got to his feet again and huffed. "You're pretty fast."

"I'm going slow," Walter said and launched a kick at Joxer's thigh.

Joxer reached to try and grab hold of Walter's leg as it thudded against his thigh.

Walter jerked his foot back and kicked again, this time at Joxer's hand. The kick was poorly leveraged, but quick.

Joxer took this opportunity to take the kick to the hand. Just like he'd planned.

Just like the headbutt he levelled at Walter, hoping he was too distracted with the kicking.

Walter wasn't distracted, since kicking is when you know you're leaving yourself open.

However, he was standing on one foot, so he tried to grab Joxer's shoulders in an effort to use the momentum generated by Walter's being hit and going down to throw Joxer at the same time.

Joxer landed hard, crashing face first against the ground.

"Ow."

Walter rolled up off the floor and bounced on the balls of his feet while he waited for Joxer to recover himself.

Yes, he had a moment of being a bit of a bastard when he said, "Just let me know when you're done warming up and we can really get started."

Joxer got up and cracked his neck as he rubbed his jaw. "Alright, no more holding back," he said. He started by going to stop on Walter's toes.

Walter was understandably (to anyone who knew him) very sensitive about his shoes, even if he was wearing athletic shoes in deference to the gym floor. He slid away from Joxer's stomp and aimed a punch at his jaw.

The glazed overlook on Joxer's face was only rivalled by the sense of pain in his tongue and mouth.

Joxer did the best thing that came to mind. He threw himself forward for a body tackle.

Which they'd already mostly established wasn't the best of ideas, since Walter could use Joxer's momentum to attempt to throw him again.

This time Joxer tried his best to latch onto Walter and try to take him down with him.

There's a reason why Walter's waistcoats are so tightly tailored, but Joxer must have gotten a grip on his tie. Walter pushed off the floor and into the pull to go down with Joxer, NOT DIRTY! trying to control his fall enough to let his knee connect with Joxer's thigh on the way down.

Joxer took the knee to his thigh, which caused a rather peculiar pained expression which involved bugged eyes and puckered lips.

Just as he continued to pull Walter down on top of him.

Walter went down, and oh look, Joxer wasn't the only one who could try headbutts (http://pics.greatestjournal.com/userpic/29300066/1435815).

Joxer's nose bore the brunt of the headbutt, but Joxer did his best to try and latch further onto Walter with a bearhug. He'd get it eventually if he tried it enough, he thought.

Walter twisted away from the bearhug, well aware that his advantages were in speed and skill, and not in brute strength.

He rolled away across the mat and up onto his feet again.

Joxer staggered to his feet, a little dizzy.

His advantage lay in. . . Oh, who is anyone kidding, he has no advantages in a straight up fight.

"Gimme your best shot," he said, giving a half-dazed 'bring it' gesture.

Walter moved in closer and did, going for another mostly pulled jab to Joxer's jaw, since he didn't want to muck about with the armor.

Joxer managed to gain enough control to duck out of the way, dropping down to his knees.

He did about the only thing that sprang to his semi punch-drunk mind. He tried to bite Walter in the thigh.

Which might be easier said than done when said thigh is suddenly coming at one's face quite quickly.

This guy was "The Mighty?"
