Third Floor Common Room - Tuesday Evening

Kawalsky had pizza. Pizza was good. He had way too much pizza for one person. He also knew that going to the second floor common room would mean the pizza would be gone in an instant. So he was making people work for it. If people wanted pizza, they'd have to come to the third floor common room.

Honey, I Laminated the Children was on TV. Kawalsky loved this movie.

"Yeah, that'd be good," he nodded. "Whatever's in there's good." He opened a few boxes. "What kind? I got a bunch of different ones."

"Anything without mushrooms," Marie said, grabbing him a regular soda because she figured guys didn't care about calories as much.

She went over and sat down. "So what's up?" she asked. "I haven't hardly talked to you now that we don't have any workshops together."

Kawalsky opened one of the cans and slurped at it. "I thought I was John Travolta's character from Grease for a while. Got the plaster off my arm. Oh! And I'm about halfway through Half-Life. It's a video game."

"Did you sing and dance?" Marie asked.

He nodded. "And raced rickshaws against Anakin and greased up my hair. It was so 50s."

"I wish I'd seen that," Marie grinned.

"Someone's gotta have video footage. Probably the pirate. Or that weird kid who walks around with a video camera. It was a hell of a lot of fun, though," he grinned.

"Or you could just sing for me now," Marie suggested.

Charlie laughed. "Nuh-uh, not with people around. I'm all sung out." Charlie took a deep breath. "Buuut I might be up to it this weekend. If you wanted to maybe go somewhere. Maybe for dinner?"

"Sure that sounds fun," Marie agreed.

Then she paused.

"Um... do you mean like a date? Or just friends hanging out?"

"Uh, well," he rubbed the back of his head with his free hand, but ew, bit of grease. Charlie stopped fumbling. "Either. I like being your friend, but we could maybe try a date and see how it goes? If you want to. If not, we could do the friends hanging out thing."

Marie was thoughtful. "Well... my last date didn't go so well," she said. "You're not sleeping with any of your male friends are you?"

"What?" Kawalsky blinked. "No! I don't...not that there's anything wrong...I'm not into guys."

Marie realized how bad that question sounded and blushed brightly. "It's just... um... yeah... I found that out on my last date, which happened to be my first date and..."

"Ohhh." He nodded in understanding. "Well, I promise. No secret guy friends who are more than guy friends. And I'll sing."

"Okay," Marie said. "I think a date could be fun then."

Kawalsky did his best to not look surprised. "Cool. How's...Sunday?"

Charlie grinned. "Cool."

"So, where do you wanna go?" Marie asked, mentally starting to flail about the wardrobe issue.

"How about Cafe Fina? Or we could do something with more neon lights and go to Fast Eddie's for bowling?"

"Ooh I think bowling sounds like fun," Marie decided. "And then maybe a stop by Caritas so you can sing."

Charlie grinned. "You got it. Pick you up around 6?"
