Cally was camped out on the couch, flipping through the channels of the TV until she found something interesting.

Ooooh, Mythbusters marathon.

"And the ABBA singing incidents haven't happened in a long time," Cally pointed out.

"I heard about that. It was before my time, I think."

Cally nodded. "So, doin' anything after your workshop?"

"Nothing planned . . . why?"

"Dunno, maybe we could do something," Cally said.

"Got anything in mind?"

Cally did. But she knew not to suggest that.

"Feeling teacherly yet?" she asked.

"I dunno. I'm supposed to teach Tyler about how to do disguise stuff at some point."

"And you did say you'd help me with the self defense stuff," Cally said. "Which should be tons easier than teaching disguises, right?"

"Energy-wise? Not quite. But I will. At some point. Maybe when it's not so hot."

"Good point," Cally said. "Didn't even think about the heat." She shrugged. "Can't really think of anything else."

". . . well, I'm still working on my story, if you want to keep helping. They're on a pirate ship, now."

"Oooh, pirates," Cally said. "This might be the best story ever, at this rate."

"Well, I'm hoping it's at least entertaining."

"You can't go wrong with pirates," Cally said. "Just a lot of swashing and buckling and, oooh, scantily clad people."

Orrrrr not so clad people, as in the case of the pirate captain this story. . . .

"They're hunting a mermaid.'

"I wonder where the inspiration for that came," Cally said, smirking. "You're not, like, writing actual people in your story, are you?"

"No, of course not! mostlysometimes."

Cally nudged Nadia with an elbow and raised an eyebrow.

Cally switched which eyebrow was raised.

"And there's. . . you know, going on?"

"Only of a consensual nature."

"Well, yeah," Cally said. "I'm just... with people... I have to read this when you're done."

Nadia blushed. ". . . Maybe."
