Grounds, Saturday Night

It was a lovely, clear night, perfect for a little stargazing. After calling Marty, Angela headed out to the grounds with a blanket, a bag of chips and some cold drinks; she also had her notebook and a flashlight.

She spread the blanket on the grass beside a strand of trees and waited for whoever might wander by.

Angela glared at Marty briefly before looking back at Cal. "I think we know the general idea. Probably. I thought vampires couldn't -- but I guess the soul makes it so he -- can?"

"Are you feeling okay?" There. That was a normal question, right?

"He was babbling about a prophecy of some kind," Callisto said. "Define okay."

"Where you're not going to do something drastic even though the circumstances are very freaky?" Marty replies.

"And where you aren't, like, puking your guts out ever thirty seconds," Angela added, elbowing Marty. "Both kinds of okay."

"If I was going to do something drastic I would have already," Callisto said. "And I appear to have missed the puking stage."

"That's good," Angela said, brushing her hair back. "I mean, on both parts."

She plucked at the grass by her feet. "So are you going to L.A. when workshops are over? Or -- something else?"

"I don't know," Callisto replied. "I mean I don't even know if I actually am, let alone what I'm supposed to do with it... them."

"Well... There's a kit you can get at Kwik stop that would let you know for sure," Marty suggested. "Or you could go to the clinic."

"Angel suggested the crazy hooker," Callisto offered.

Angela blinked at Cal. Kind of a lot. "...you know, the tests are really good," she said, trying for diplomacy. "Clinic could do it. Or, that first aid teacher. She's supposed to be nice."

"But what happens if I am?" Callisto asked in the tone of someone wanting to avoid reality as long as humanly possible. "Or if I'm not?"

"Um. One step at a time?" Marty suggests. "Then maybe beating the crap out of Angel?"

Callisto snickered tiredly. "I'd already thought of that option."
