Nadia had had a mostly normal weekend and a quiet, pleasant day. She had a big red rubber kickball left over from the bouncy ball attacks last winter, and thanks to Al, a fake leg.

What did all this mean?

Prosthetic limb ball!

Created by bored teenaged street people who usually had to make due with whatever they found lying around, prosthetic limb ball was a time honored tradition for Nadia and her gang back in Buenos Aires, and it was about time it made its debut in Fandom. The rules were simple: you took a ball. You took a prosthetic limb. You hit the ball with the prosthetic limb while other people tried to make it harder for you to do it.

It could be baseball, t-ball, polo, hockey . . . but Nadia was thinking tonight it should be kick ball. Since the prosthetic limb had a foot.

The bases were to be determined, the teams would probably be chaotic, Nadia was just hoping some other folks would show up to play with her.

"You'll never hit it, holding it that way," the Doctor said from his official referee spot.

Nadia grabbed the ball and stepped back some distance from him with a grin. "Sah-WING, leggerleggerlegger!"

She rolled the ball fast at Anders' legs.

"Leggerleggerlegger?"

Anders cracked up so badly he missed the ball completely that time.

Peter clapped at Anders' strike. "Yes, Anders, do show us all how it's done."

Nadia struck a saucy pose. "Well, you're not using a bat."

"Hey, never swing at the first pitch," Anders called back, shaking the leg at Peter. "That's one of the basics!"

"You only get one more chance," the Doctor said. "Two strikes and you're out. Sorry."

"Two strikes?" Anders yelped incredulously.

Nadia shrugged. "He's the ref. Anyone else wanna pitch?"

"Strike him out, Nadia," Peter replied with a grin.

Nadia saluted and ~~handwavily~~ grabbed the ball.

"Legger up,"

Anders adjusted the leg and waggled it again. "Bring it, Santos," he yelled.

Nadia wound up, bobbled the ball a bit from hand to hand, then bowled it at Anders with a bit of a spin.

Anders swung the leg and gave the ball a good kick with the instep of the fake foot -- and grounded it hard right at an infielder.

Yeah, this'd be an easy out.

Only if someone was actually, ya know, THERE. "Get it, get it, get it!" Nadia yelled as she ran after it.

Peter - who was on the left of the field - tried to cover Anders to tackle him before he made a base. Wherever they were.

Anders wasn't really sure where the bases were either, and the nighttime conditions didn't really help. He was sort of weaving his way down the line. If there was a line.

Well, he was weaving his way somewhere.

Peter didn't see a line so much as a lack of line so he just ran at Anders.

Nadia finally reached the ball and threw it at Anders.

Alas, she doesn't throw as well as she rolls. In fact, she throws like a girl.

A girl who throws pretty badly.

Lord only knew if she'd hit anything.

"That's not cricket!" Peter called to the ref.

"I don't see a wicket anywhere," the Doctor said with a smirk. "So you're right. This isn't cricket."

"Other meaning of cricket, my good Doctor," Peter replied with a laugh.

"All's fair in love and prosthetic limb ball," the Doctor replied.

"And who's really sure about the first?" Peter said.

"Fools, mainly," the Doctor replied.
