Fifth Floor Common Room - Sunday Evening

After handwavily finding out that her little wasn't going to be around for another week, Marie decided to skip out of the party and make a handwavy trip to the store.

She needed to keep her mind occupied, so she decided to cook dinner for anyone who wanted it. But not lasagna again. This time she was making fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

Kaylee wandered into the common room. "Hi Marie!"

"Hey, Kaylee," Marie said with a small smile. "How've you been?"

"I been pretty good. How 'bout you?" Kaylee asked curiously. "Oh! How'd your date go?"

Cally wandered in and crashed on a sofa.

"Too many new people," she said.

Marie nodded. "My little isn't showing up until next week, so I didn't stick around the party."

"I'm just glad I didn't spot anyone who looks like anyone else," Cally said. "Yet. I'm sure there'll be some. It's inevitable."

Blair had no reason to be up on the 5th floor, but the smell of mashed potatoes drew him up the stairs. "Are you cooking for everyone?"

Bel hesitated, gathering his nerve. Finally, he walked over by Blair. "Hey," he said.

"..." Blair winced at the lack of speaking and tried again. "Hey."

It was squeaky, but at least words came out.

"Yep," Marie said. "Help yourself."

"Thanks." Blair smiled and grabbed a plateful of mashed potatoes.

"I smell food," Conner said wistfully as he wandered up to the fifth floor.

"Hey, Conner," Marie said with a small smile. "Help yourself. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes."

"Well, it's a good thing your nose still works properly," Cally said. "Hey Conner."

Z smelled food. Good food. She followed the smells up from the third floor, then paused in the doorway of the common room and asked, "Is this a floor-specific party, or can anyone join?"

"Help yourself," Marie said. "There's fried chicken and mashed potatoes."

Jamie tried to slip by the lounge without notice until he saw Marie standing there. He thought about quietly leaving but decided that sooner or later he had to face her.

"Marie? Do you have a moment?"

Marie bit her lip. Bel and Conner were both in the room, so she felt safe enough. And maybe Cally was right and Jamie had been bitten by a gremlin.

"Yeah, sure," she said.

Dana leaned into what she though was the common room. Smelling hot food she smiled, hot food was always a good thing.
