Third Floor Common Room, Late Sunday

As was becoming a tradition, Angela skipped the new student orientation because she hated crowds.

But she was a little curious about the shiny new people, so she went out to the common room late Sunday. Even if no one wandered in, she could have cookie dough ice cream and watch The Z-Cases.

Life was good.

Okay, so she'd met a handful of people at the orientation-thing, and unpacked all her stuff. Next on the list? See what channels the TVs here got. So she wandered in to the common room.

"Oooh, hi!" Carmela says, upon noticing that someone was already there. "Mind if I...?" she waves at the couch.

"Go for it," Angela said, scooting to make sure Carmela had plenty of room. "Do you like Z-Cases??"

"I'm mostly an anime fan?" Carmela admits sheepishly. "But I have to admit, Wolf is kind of hot."

Chad was returning from his outdoor walk and puppy squeeing when he noticed that the room he'd questioningly passed earlier now had people in it. He tilted his head a little, knocking on the doorframe before entering. It looked to be a common recreation space, but he didn't want to intrude in case he'd mistaken it and had just wandered right into these two girls' room.

Angela raised an eyebrow at the large new kid. "C'mon in," she said, swallowing her ice cream. "Want to watch TV with us?"

Chad didn't really watch a lot of television, but he was never one to turn down an invitation. "Uh, sure." He shifted into the room, chosing to sit in a chair rather than the couch because the chair looked sturdier, in the long run. Weight distribution, and all that stuff. He tilted his head to the TV. "What're we watching?"

"Hola!" Carmela gives the new person a friendly wave.

"Hola, seniorita," Chad nodded to her, lifted a big hand as a sort of wave back. But there was a small smile in the corners of his mouth, and he wondered if she spoke Spanish. It would be nice to speak the good old home tongue again, so he tests it a little, although it's a well-known phrase. "Como estas?"

Hamlet also wasn't the type to try and navigate the huge new student gatherings, so he finally came out of his room and down to the first open common room he saw late Sunday, after he hoped that most people would be in bed. "Ah, The Z-cases. Is it one of the good episodes?"

Angela held up a hand and tilted it back and forth. "So-so," she said. "It's one of the ones where they think they've found Wolf's sister but it's her double, or something."

Hamlet settled back onto a couch. "Again? Don't they have a storyline revolving around Wolf almost but not discovering his sister's whereabouts at least once per season?"

Chad, not terribly socialable but never rude, gave Hamlet a nod. He idly wondered if that hair colour was real; Ichigo's was, after all, and it reminded Chad of Ichigo's.

Hamlet nodded back to the strange boy. He didn't recognize having seen anyone that tall and imposing around before, and assumed that he must be one of the new students who had just arrived today.

"Hey, big brother who is not a breakfast food!" Carmela says.

"Little sister who is not non-existent," replied Hamlet. "I apologize that our conversation earlier was so short."

Barbara was settled in to her dorm. She hadn't really unpacked or anything, but everything was there. She hadn't seen her roommate yet, but she figured that was okay. They were in one room together - they were bound to meet.

Deciding that it might be nice to mingle, Barbara pulled her straight red locks into a ponytail and walked into what she desperately hoped was the common room.

Angela waved. "Hey. Join us, watch Z-Cases."

"Hey," Barbara smiled at the girl waving to her. Grabbing a seat, she looked to the tv and introduced herself. "Hi. I'm Barbara."

Another new person entering the room, another desire not to seem rude. Chad lifted a big hand in a bit of a wave, but without actual waving.

Barbara saw the hand and nodded, flashing him a soft smile. He was handsome in an intense sort of way. She liked that.

After several cups of 'commoner coffee' the twins were in no condition to go to sleep. Wandering out into the common room seemed to be a slightly worth-while activity, especially with the sound of voices buzzing from a tv-sounding source. They went to check it out.

Angela eyed the two boys, "Twins, or do you just look alike?" she asked. "Hi."

"We're twins. Good evening." they say in unison, eyeing both the ice cream and the strange show being watched.

Hey. The twins. Chad wondered if they were roomed on this floor, too. He raised a hand in a greeting to them, because he knew he couldn't remember who was who. Although, if he greeted them together, it didn't really matter, but talking wasn't really what he did anyway. A wave would suffice.

Noticing the wave, they grinned and meandered over. They did, indeed live on this floor.
"They call this a common room, right?" How fitting for a commoner's school to have a "common room", although so far, it seemed that every room in the building was fairly "common".
