The Roof// Friday Evening

Seras had, once again, spent the day in her room. However, rather then shivering under the covers, she'd merely been curled up in bed reading some of her favourite adventure novels.

Now, with her head full of deeds of daring do done by people more noble and lucky than they had any right to be, Seras climbed up onto the roof for some fresh air.

Growing up in either the city or in institutions who had a definite 'inside before dark' policy, Seras had yet to grow tired of gazing up at the stars.

She found a cozy place, took out a scarf she'd been knitting, and settled in to enjoy the show.

"Assuming I have any idea how to set this up," Cally said. "I'm still kinda fuzzy on that."

"Did you try looking it up?"

"See, I didn't even think of that until Seras mentioned it," Cally said. "I is the smartest person ever."

"You thought of making the still in the first place. So you get mad points for that."

"Eh, it was just me remember stories my dad told me about doing it on the Atlantia," Cally said. "And the fact that the darn thing can't fly."

"Still, putting two and two together like that. And getting a billion."

"Thanks," Cally said. "So, what's up with you, anyways?" She tightened the last gasket with her wrench.

"What do you mean?"

"Like, what've you been up to since I've seen you last?" Cally said.

"Oh. Not much. Just kind of meeting people, trying to make Joxer breathe fire. . . ."

"You're trying to do what to that doofus?"

"He volunteered."

"Wow, he's thick," Cally said.

"I've noticed that."

Cally pulled herself out from under the Viper. "All ready," she said.

"Cool. So what do we do?"

"Find a book to tell us what to do next, I guess. Or Agnes. Agnes said she might have an idea what to do here."

"Ah. I think I'd go for the book."

"Yeah, but Agnes is friendlier than a book," Cally said. "You're probably right, though."

"I haven't talked to her much. But she mentioned the witch doctor who worked at the clinic for awhile."

"Oo, ee, oo, ah ah?" Cally offered, in a fit of silliness.

"Er, what?"

"You've never heard that song? Isn't it about a witch doctor?"

Nadia shook her head. "I don't think so. But I haven't heard all the music in the world."

"I might be crazy," Cally said. "Anyways, book. Yes. I'll try to find one next time the library is open, I guess."
