Third Floor Common Room -- late Saturday Morning

Dean hauled the bags of ingredients he and Sammy had handwavily bought in town into the kitchen and dumped them on the counter.

"There," he said, turning to his brother. "I think we've got everything."

[ooc: open, feel free to come heckle the pie makers.]

"That's where I heard it before," Tyler said, lightbulb going on. "We used to have a guy here from Tattoine and he said the same thing. I think he went home this week."

"Really?" Luke's eyes lit up. "What was his name?"

"Anakin Skywalker," Tyler said. "But it's one person on a planet. Why, is it a really little planet?"

Luke was bouncing on his toes. "It's a pretty little planet, yeah. And Anakin was my father."

"That's really weird," Tyler said, not catching the past tense. "So unless Anakin started really young, you're from his future? How's he doing?"

"He died before I was born," Luke said quietly.

He wasn't getting any better at sharing this particular piece of news.

Tyler hadn't known Anakin well, and he thought fathers were pretty useless in general, but that was still hard to hear. "I'm sorry," he said quietly. "We weren't best friends or anything, but he was a good guy. Hell of a fighter."

"Was he?" Luke's eyes lit up. "I don't know anything about him at all," he said, blushing. "It's not exactly, um, a good thing to be a Jedi at home right now. So my aunt and uncle told me that he'd been a freighter pilot for most of my life."

"He taught flight here," Tyler said. "And yeah. Ask Bel over there what happened when they sparred in July. It was awesome."

"Really?" Luke grinned. "I will."
