Nadia had decided that what Bel had said the night before was right. They didn't want to freak Marie out by having crowds that were too big bearing down on them. So she decided she'd "hold down the fort", so to speak, and stay here to wait in case Marie came back.

She had her toughbook with her, and was currently working on setting up a rough map of the island. She hoped to keep up with the search parties and mark off those locations that had been cleared as having no Marie.

Sure, the girl could double back, but it would be a start. And part of her training had included working support in the black van.

Nadia smiled her thanks and gratefully accepted the gallon. Probably cheap coffee, too. Ah well.

"Bridge and Bel's teams both found duplicates of Marie and brought them back. No word on the original. Speaking of which, did you ever find your original?"

Jamie shook his head. "I'm having one of my dupes run down to the clinic and see if anyone showed up there. Unless people have checked there already."

Nadia shook her head and rubbed her eyes. "Not that I know of. Which is pretty dumb. Can we blame that on lack of sleep?"

"Yeah well, we're kids. That's the excuse I'm going with," Jamie said with a small grin.
