Pip was up on the roof plunking on his guitar, staring up into the stars.

Jesus. Poor Marie. And to think he started this day planning on soaking everyone.

"I found one. I think she's the original, since she talked about creating dupes. She's pretty freaked, though. Doesn't want to be around anybody." Conner sighed. "Not that I'd blame her."

"Yeah, I guess. I don't really understand exactly what happened, though."

"She drained Jamie's life force, or at least that's what Bel said," Conner replied. "Jamie's dupe told me she can drain people's memories, too, and powers if they're mutants. So not only did she end up making two other copies of herself, she's probably got Jamie's memories in her head on top of it. She doesn't want to be touched, and thinks she shouldn't be around people at all because she'll hurt someone."

"I heard that part. Jamie told me last night. But doesn't she just need to figure out how to control it? Then she'll be fine."

"I tried to tell her that, but I don't think it was completely convincing, coming from me. She's really, really jumpy right now."

"Do you think it might help if I tried to talk to her?"

"Maybe. We probably shouldn't all jump on her at once trying to be nice, though."

"Yeah. Don't want to freak her out any more."
