The gym, Monday afternoon

After fifth period is over, Aeryn bypasses going up to her room to go straight down to the gym. Peter's out of classes first, but she likes to try to get there early to warm up a little. She drops her bag at the door, gets out her gloves, and starts out easy on the bag.


[Mostly for peter__parker whenever he's around, but open like woah.]

She gives a nod to make sure he's ready, then sends a slow punch directly at him.

Peter blocked the punch and quickly went into a slow punch to the air a bit left of Aeryn's face with his other hand.

Aeryn kind of ducks to the side, not because she's afraid he'll hit her, but more just in case. "Quick learner," she says.

"I have been doing things similar to this already, so I have a bit of a head start," Peter said, proudly.

"Good," she says. "In that case, do you think you're ready for actual hitting?"

"Sure thing," Peter said. "And if you do land some hits on me, that's fine. I'm pretty tough."

"Same here," she says, hoping she's not setting herself up for something very bad. "In position," she tells him, getting into a fighting stance herself.

Peter started to move into his normal fighting stance, crouched low and ready to spring in any direction. He sighed as he straightened himself up a bit and raised his fists.

He couldn't help but bounce in place a little, just to keep some constant motion. "Ready when you are."

Aeryn starts first, sending a punch to his shoulder, still holding back a little. Just in case.

Peter started to duck, but remembered to block instead. The aborted duck meant that his return punch left at an awkward angle for him.

Aeryn blocks his punch, taking a step back for a moment. "How instinctual is your normal fighting technique?"

"Almost completely," Peter said, stepping back himself. "I just kind of show up and see what happens, really."

She nods, filing that information away. "All right, you be offensive this time."

"Okay," Peter said. He threw a right hook to Aeryn's body, waiting for a warning on where her counter punch would come from.

Aeryn blocks with her left, sending her right fist towards Peter's side.

Peter blocked with his left arm, then adjusted and threw an uppercut with the same arm.

Aeryn blocks and almost has to remind herself not to kick yet, instead sending a punch towards his left shoulder.

"Nice." Peter dropped his shoulder under the punch and swung a right to Aeryn's side.

She takes that one because she's trying to remind herself not to dodge, either, but it doesn't stop her from aiming another hit to his ribs.

"Sorry about that," Peter said, blocking. "Block, not dodge. I need to work on that." Peter aimed a punch at Aeryn's right shoulder.

"You'll be able to do that later," she says, knocking the punch away, then taking a quick pause before aiming for his left side.

"That part I'm already good at, I should warn you." Peter blocked the punch and threw a slower punch than he had been using at Aeryn's face.

She blocks that one, again reminding herself not to kick, instead going back for Peter's right shoulder.

Peter took the hit and used it to roll help rotate his body into a punch to Aeryn's left side.

She takes that one, backing off a step. "Very good. I don't usually get this far in the first session."
