Since she's now afraid of her computer-- at least until someone explains how not to find pornography to her-- and Mrs. Gilmore told her to watch television, Evie has decided to do her homework.

She is currently watching a rerun of Crime & Justice. It's not entirely clear to her how it works, but it's definitely fascinating.

"Hi," Naomi replied, "I'm Naomi, an American policeman show?" she questioned, she wasn't too familiar with television shows yet

"Yes, it's very interesting. They're trying to find the man who killed the six-fingered fire-eater." Evie pointed at the screen. "That's the man's estranged wife, that's his ex-wife, that's his fiancee, and that's his girlfriend. I'm rather afraid his mistress is the killer, though."

"Oh," Naomi replied, "I'm not that familiar with this form of entertainment yet,"

"Why don't you sit down, and watch for a bit? It does get a little easier as you watch," Evie invited the other girl. "And... I can't help but ask. Are you an alien? Or a demon of some kind? I've heard we have both here."

"Thanks," Naomi took up the offer and sat down next to her, "I'm an alien," she replied, "I'm half human/half ktarian ... ktarians are a species from my universe that nobody has heard of here, or at least from what I've seen so far, my mother is human and my father is ktarian,"

"Ahhh." Evie is not terribly enlightened on most points, but she nods gamely anyway. "Welcome to Earth!"

"Oh I'm from earth but thanks anyway," Naomi explained, "well I wasn't born on earth as such, I've been living in San Francisco, California for the past two years. I grew up on the USS Voyager, which is a spaceship in my time,"

"Oooo," Evie said, rather impressed. "Did you use a time travel machine to arrive here? Jack's from the future as well, do you know him? Jack Harkenss?"

"I don't think I've met him yet," Naomi replied, "I'm not entirely sure how I got here in the year 2006 from the year 2380, I'd never heard of Fandom before I arrived here ... I arrived in a shuttle, but I don't know how that accounted for arriving in the year 2006, I don't think Lieutenant Paris knew that it was the year 2006 when he dropped me off,"

"I'll be sure to point you out to him. And a shuttle? What's a shuttle?"

"A mode of transport from where I come from, it has the same purpose as a spaceship except that its much smaller and can only fit a certain number of people, depending on the size of the shuttle,"

"Ahh. It's rather like Buck Rogers Roy Starr then, isn't it? Cowboy in space?" Evie looked delighted. "How thrilling. Are you enjoying being back on Earth? Even if it is the wrong year for you."

Naomi asked, "what's that?" she paused, "Earth isn't that bad," she admitted, "I still miss Voyager even though the last time that I saw all of Voyager's crew together was at our one year reunion last year, it's rather weird being in the year 2006 ... I don't think my parents realised how weird this school was when they sent me here, I'm still trying to decide how to tell them without them thinking that I'm crazy,"

"Oh, me too," Evie said, nodding. "I've told my older brother , because he would either believe me, or not care if I'd gone insane. But my parents?" She sighed. "I'm sorry you're homesick. I've been feeling that a bit as well. This is nothing like what I'm used to."

"I'm an only child," Naomi replied, "I mean my parents have seen a lot of weird stuff in their careers but I don't think they've experienced anything like this, where do you come from Evie?" Naomi asked
