Third Floor Common Room, Friday Afternoon

WIth no classes today, the twins lounged in the common room. Hikaru was eatting popcorn and watching the Z FIles while Kaoru sat to the side, making what must have sounded like strange barking as he looked over his Cross Species Communications vocabulary packet.

Walter nodded vehemently. "I'm on your side for that. If someone wearing a Nazi uniform points a gun at me, I'm not going to talk it out, I'm going to kill him."

"That's why you and I are sane and alive and Blair is going to get himself in some serious trouble."

Sane? Walter smirked a little at that. "At least Blair doesn't go looking for fights, but yeah, life's not always going to be flowers and peace for him."

Alanna nodded. "He'll learn."

"Right. And on to other things than Blair's perpetual delusion." But not back to the subject Alanna had changed away from. "How are you finding your classes?"

"By walking." Alanna said dryly, but her lips twitched a little.

"I'll have to try that," Walter said seriously. "Do you think you'll like them?"

"Yup. Ethics is... going to be interesting. And if Blair protests Hunting again, I'll find myself in detention for hitting a student. Other than that, all good."

"I hear Ethics is an in demand class this semester. I'm not surprised Arthur didn't sign me up for it; he's not especially interested in ethics.

"And I'll keep an eye open for you if Blair protests again, to help keep you out of trouble."

"You'll probably have to resort to physical force."

"I'll pick up Blair and carry him away if I have to. Just because I spent almost every Summer weekend in detention doesn't mean I recommend it for others."

Alanna laughed. "Thanks. I ... spent about two years in our equivolent of detention. But then again, so did everyone else."

Walter tilted his head, looking interested. "Everyone? Why is that?"

"Just the way of life. Plus, um, my friends and I weren't the type to follow every rule. Even if one of them was the son of the Prime-Minister and the other was the Crown Prince."

"That sounds very familiar," Walter said, laughing a little. "A privileged background hardly guarantees good behavior."

Alanna grinned. "Oh most certianly not. Did you know that I'm a noble born lady back home?"

"Why do I have a feeling you'd hit me if I started calling you 'my Lady?'" Walter asked, with a not very well-hidden smirk.

"Because I would?" Alanna replied with a matching smirk. "I'm more used to Squire Alan, anyways."

"Were you once a boy?" Walter asked, because Fandom had made that seem like a viable explanation.

Alanna face palmed. Faithful snorted. "I figured since I'm fairly open about it, everyone knew. No, not a boy. I switched places with my twin and disguised myself as a boy to train to be a knight."

Walter laughed and inclined his head to her. "Now I know. And no one ever caught on?"

"Um...there was a thing with a thing so George and his mother did. Then Jon and I got attacked by a couple really old gods and I lost my clothes so he found out. And Sir Myles guessed and Gary figures there's something up, but I don't think this is what he thinks it is." Alanna paused. "A lot of people are waiting for me to admit that I'm gay. Er, Alan is gay."

Walter followed her explanation, shaking his head slowly in wonderment before laughing gleefully at the part about Alan's being gay.

"I never thought it would be true, but it sounds as though Fandom might actually be less hectic than your regular life."

"Scarilly? It is." Alanna laughed. "That's why I love it here."
