The 3rd floor Common Room Thursday Evening 9/14

Lavender is cooking up a storm. It had all started when she decided it was her turn to cook after all the free food she’d eaten in the common rooms since she arrived in Fandom. But it looks like she got a little carried away.

On the table is a tray piled with Cornish pasties, a large bowl of mashed potatoes, a plate of fried tomatoes, another bowl filled with peas and carrots, a roast chicken and a pitcher of gravy. She was just leaning down to take out a vegetable casserole and then she was going to put in the Spotted Dick She hoped she'd made enough.

She’d also set out a large pitcher of pumpkin juice.

Damnit I left the fudge in my room! she thought to herself, wiping her hands on her apron.

[ooc:Open as open can be I shall be SP until about 5:25 Eastern]

Mac made her way down the the third floor, ready to partake in Lavender's food experiment.

She stopped in the doorway and stared. "Woah, that's a lot of food."

Peter...really didn't have a nose trained for British cooking. Really. He didn't. And that was exactly why he showed up in the door to the Common Room looking hungry.

Mac blinked, and tried not to giggle at the picture in front of her. "No I think you'll have enough. Around here I'm sure people will flock to eat it."

She gestured at her face, "Uh, you have... in your hair."

Peter grinned. "I could be. Are you truly making food from home?"

"Brilliant's what you are, Lavender," Peter replied with a smile. He went to find a plate and fill it up with pasties and potatoes and peas. "What made you decide to cook?"

Peter took a bite and swallowed before replying. "Well it's very good." He grinned, "I can see why you wanted it."

"Walter made a big English breakfast once," Peter said. "But other than that..." He grinned. "And I'm horrible at cooking so unfortunately I can't contribute beyond tea."

"Well, it looks great," Mac said, taking in the spread. "I'm sure it'll taste just awesome." Mac made her way over to the food, and helped herself to some of the casserole, she then took a long look at the pumpkin juice, "What is that?"

Peter nodded. "Exactly right. He's another Brit." He grinned. "During the World Cup, we both bet Pippi on the outcome of the England/Sweden match."

Mac raised an eyebrow, "Never would have thought to drink it as juice." She poured herself a large glass anyway, and put it down on a table nearby so she could try the food.

"This stuff's pretty damn good," she announced, after taking a small forkful, just in case. "Tastes better than mine and I've been making the stuff for years now."

Peter raised an eyebrow at her. "Funny that. Pippi'll beg to differ."

Billy, carrying a shopping bag with chips, dip, soda, cookies and some microwavables came in and deposited the bag on an unoccupied table, then quickly stashed the frozen foods in the freezer.

On the bag was written;

thanks for food sharing

Peter nodded then grinned. "Usually that's the first thing she points out."

Mac laughed, "You can do magic that tells you when your food is done? Smooth. That must come in handy."
