Outside the garage, afternoon

Cameron knew that he'd been avoiding this. He also knew it was a bit stupid. So after lunch, he headed down to the garage, wearing his appropriate leather jacket. He pushed the swoopbike out and took a moment to just admire the paintjob he and John had done on it. The added silver lightning bolts did add something to it and he was grateful for Izzy's alien-fu. After taking a quick picture with his mobile, he took off on the swoopbike for the very first time.

An hour later, he was back in front of the garage, cleaning off the sand and dirt from his ride.

((Open like an open thing. He promised some people a ride so go ahead. Just keep in mind that he's a tiny bit protective so he won't just let anyone ride it.))

Having finally noticed that the first floor construction was done, Anders decided to explore the new additions a bit and garage-ward.

"Hey, Mitchell," he said. "Whatcha got here?"

"Joan, huh?" Anders walked around the bike a couple of times and whistled softly. "She's gorgeous, man. Really frakking gorgeous. She as fast as she looks like?"

Anders reached one fingertip out to barely touch the end of a handlebar. "You that eager to fly, Mitchell?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"It looks like fun," Anders said wistfully. "Way faster than I like to go usually, but fun."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's 'cause I haven't seen it in action yet," Anders pointed out. "If it's as fast as it looks like it is? Sign me up, I'll be a convert."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wouldn't trust me to drive it either," Anders assured him quickly. "Wouldn't say no to a ride, though."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Seriously?" Anders didn't wait for Cameron to answer the question, though, since he was already grabbing a helmet. Yeah, today was definitely looking up.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Would I do that to you? You're still not my type, Mitchell," Anders retorted, amused, as he climbed on the bike behind Cameron. "Besides, I like you too much to try and make you flail that way."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I kind of like to live." Anders got a firm but very platonic grip and nodded. "As I'll ever be."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Holy frakkin' -- whoa!" yelled Anders, but he wasn't sure how much of that was actually audible, given the helmet's muffling effect and the speed they were going -- he had no idea they weren't going to hit top speed anyhow. He sort of wanted to let go and pump his fists in the air, but on the other hand, letting go? Really bad idea, so he settled for whooping loudly instead.

"At the beach already?" Anders yelled, and then proceeded to hang on a little tighter when Cameron kicked up the speed. "Holy frak, this thing is sweet!"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right, right!" Anders let go just long enough to pat the bike apologetically on its -- her? -- um, flank. "Sorry, Joan! You kinda rock!"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-20 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"No idea -- out to the causeway and back the long way?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Anders hadn't thought of that. He was just having enough fun to want to prolong it a bit. "Go, Joan!"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah! Open up that throttle, Mitchell!" Anders hollered.

He could probably get used to this speed-demon thing.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Anders really hoped his "meep!" at the sharp turn went unheard. Because really, after the initial moment of fright, it had been pretty damn fun.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Gotta save something for next time, right?" Anders replied. "Too much excitement could kill me."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Anders took the helmet off and caught his breath, grinning. "Thanks, man. I needed that. Really needed that."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Of the not-dirty kind." Anders patted him on the shoulder. "I'll come look you up."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-09-21 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"No," Anders said honestly, patting Joan again. "But hopefully they'll be getting there again soon."

John cut through the garage, loving how the place already smelled like motor oil, sweat, and grease. He frowned as he saw Sam Carter's bike from the shed sitting a few spots down from his dirt bike. And whatever these guys were working on.
