Outside the garage, afternoon

Cameron knew that he'd been avoiding this. He also knew it was a bit stupid. So after lunch, he headed down to the garage, wearing his appropriate leather jacket. He pushed the swoopbike out and took a moment to just admire the paintjob he and John had done on it. The added silver lightning bolts did add something to it and he was grateful for Izzy's alien-fu. After taking a quick picture with his mobile, he took off on the swoopbike for the very first time.

An hour later, he was back in front of the garage, cleaning off the sand and dirt from his ride.


((Open like an open thing. He promised some people a ride so go ahead. Just keep in mind that he's a tiny bit protective so he won't just let anyone ride it.))

"Sounds like a plan," Cameron grinned and hoped there wasn't too much traffic there as he hadn't exactly tried riding with other people heading his way.

Well, Anders hadn't thought of that. He was just having enough fun to want to prolong it a bit. "Go, Joan!"

"Wooohooooo!" Cameron whooped as he turned the bike to head towards the Causeway. Navigating onto the parking lot was a bit trickier so he slowed down some, but the road was completely empty and Cameron put his foot down.

"Yeah! Open up that throttle, Mitchell!" Anders hollered.

He could probably get used to this speed-demon thing.

Cameron did, but as they reached the end of the causeway, he had to slow down again. His turn? Was still pretty sharp, though.

Anders really hoped his "meep!" at the sharp turn went unheard. Because really, after the initial moment of fright, it had been pretty damn fun.

Heard or not, the causeway was still free and Cameron sped right back up again, loving the purr of the engine. Taking advantage of the strip, he didn't slow down until they reached the parking lot again.

"Any other requests?" he called back.

"Gotta save something for next time, right?" Anders replied. "Too much excitement could kill me."

Cameron chuckled. "Home we go," he said as he kept the speed down when he took Apocolypse Avenue to head back towards the dorms. It wouldn't do to get busted by a trooper patrol after all.

He was kind of proud when Joan didn't seem to have any problems going up the steep hill. So when they reached the garage again, Cameron gently patted the bike. "Good girl."

Anders took the helmet off and caught his breath, grinning. "Thanks, man. I needed that. Really needed that."

"No problem," Cameron assured him. "Anytime you need a thrill..."

"Of the not-dirty kind." Anders patted him on the shoulder. "I'll come look you up."

"Obviously," Cameron agreed and pulled off his helmet as he climbed off the swoop bike. He'd need to clean off some sand again now, but he didn't mind much. "Everything okay?"

"No," Anders said honestly, patting Joan again. "But hopefully they'll be getting there again soon."

Cameron nodded. "Well, if you need a ride or a chat or to get drunk..."
