The Roof: Wednesday Night

John trundled up his Muhammed Ali grill, extension cord, charcoal Weber grille and charcoal, and cooler full of barbeque-able items up to the roof.

INtermittant thunderstorms be damned.

Wednesday Night Barbeque!


He sets up shop and starts out by firing up the charcoal grill and starting some bacon on the Ali.

Matilda hasn't really been up here yet. The breeze is really quite nice, especially since it's laced with the smell of cooking food. College makes me miss good meat...:( "Oh! Is that you John?"

"Nope. It's Me JOhn." He flips the lid up on the grille, testing the done-ness.

Teddy had been heading up to the roof for some alone time and was slightly disappointed that people had beat him there.

But those people had a barbeque going on, and he was not one to refuse free food.

"Hey, John!"

"Yo, Tedster! Do me a favor and check the Weber, dude. See if it's ready for burgers." John takes the bacon off the electric grille and slaps on some more strips.

Rolling his eyes at being called 'Tedster', Teddy wandered over to the grill and poked at the charcoal. They glowed a nice dull orange.

"It looks like it."

"I was told to come to you for the food." She smiles. "Can you spare any?"

"No. You must earn your food. Um. There's not much left to do. Aha! You are in charge of drinks. Alcoholic. Caffinated. Both. IN fact, I'll take me an Irish coffee. Or 3."

Teddy snuck Matilda a small hamburger, because she was small and looked hungry.

Damn his protective instincts.

Since they were coming up with no ideas for the package, and nothing interesting had been happening, the twins wander up to the roof. "Yo!" They wave to John.

"Bacon?" They exchange glances. "Sure."

Teddy raises his grilling spatula in greeting toward the twins. "Hey!"

"Teddy!" They raise a hand each and walk over. "Enjoying yourself?"

Naomi hadn't been up to the roof yet and she was feeling restless so she decided to go up for a while, "hey," she said

Teddy waved from behind the grill. "Hey!"

"Yo. Line starts there," he points at the cooler which has some paper plates in a bag lying next to it, "and ends there. Crap. Um, congrats, you're now in charge of fixins. Tomatoes and lettuce are in the cooler."

Naomi wasn't entirely sure what that meant she had to do but she got the tomatoes and lettuce out any way.

"Something smells good up here," Anders noted as he came through the doorway. "What's up, dude?"

"Bacon comma American. Bacon comma Canadian. Corn. oR soon to be corn. Burgers. Freeloaders and moochers. You?"

"Mooching," Anders replied with a grin. "I'd offer to help, but it looks like you've got plenty of assistant chefs here."

...Setsuna had gone up to the roof that night with the intention of doing some thinking.

It became quite clear to her that such a thing would not happen, considering the crowd. She blinked, offered everyone a little wave.

"McNinjaPants! Want some of my meat?" John waved a Canadian bacon sammich.

First, Setsuna just stared. Then, she opened her mouth to say something, a blush springing up to her cheeks, and her mouth snapped shut. She grunted. Oi.

"I'm not hungry, thanks."
