Fourth Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening

In need of distraction, Isabel wandered out to the common and flipped on the TV, smiling when she saw that The Amazing Race was on. A cute Kiwi was the perfect distraction from her worries. She found a bag of chips in the cabinet, poured them into a bowl for sharing and settled down on the couch to watch the show.

Isabel slid the bowl of chips in Teddy's direction. "True, but I like the subtle stuff. You know, how they'll spoof a gangster movie, or the opera one. Kill da wabbit!" she sang briefly before laughing and shaking her head. "Yes, I can occasionally be a dork."

Teddy grabbed some chips and started munching. "You do know that you're talking to a minor lord of the land of Dork, right?"

"I did not realize that," Isabel laughed. Sitting up she attempted to curtsey, a difficult manuver since she wasn't wearing a skirt, and she didn't get off the couch. "It's a pleasure to speak with you milord."

"Yeah!" Teddy said, actually smiling for the first time that weekend. "Though Astronomy is insanely boring."

"Is it really? I'd thought about taking that. I've always liked looking at the stars," Isabel said. "But it's no fun if it's boring. Is it the teacher or do you just have a quiet class?"

"No, it's not any of that," Teddy replied. "I was just hoping that we'd learn about other galaxies."

He sighed. "How are your classes?"

"Which can be boring when you want information about out there," Isabel said. "I keep asking people about my planet, but no one's ever heard of it. I really think it's in the farthest back corner of the universe possible." She rolled her eyes. "My classes are mostly good. They just have a ton of reading."

"Ah, reading" Teddy said. "I hear ya. Give me a stack of comics and I'll read them in a couple of hours, but give a text book and I'll read a paragraph and then suddenly have ADD."

"Mostly I don't mind it. But when it gets to be too much, I switch. A chapter of school stuff then a chapter of some mindless romance novel," she grinned.
