Fifth floor common room, Monday after 1st period

Having spent pretty much the entire day yesterday hiding in her bed, Nadia decided to do something interesting today. Not cooking, she did that all the time, but something that was new and different, even for Fandom.

Which is why she's spread out an enormous piece of paper in the corner of the room (away from the television and the kitchen, so she wasn't completely taking over), lined the edges with buckets of paint, rolled up her pants to just below her knees and was currently very slowly and very carefully dancing on the paper with paint covered feet.

She's humming to herself, and the paper is most certainly large enough for dance partners.

"Deal," agreed Anders. "I even promise not to bring my Pyramid ball as a date this time. You know, on the off chance anybody was wondering if I would? You're my witness that I said I wouldn't."

Nadia laughed. "I'll remember that. Do you really have to have a date to go to homecoming?"

"Eh. Nah, not really. Hell, I could just make it a tradition of going stag or something. Like a statement. Only what kind of statement, I have no idea."

"That you're secure in your self-image and don't need a date to feel good?"

"Oooh, I like that. You know, if that interior spy decorator thing turns out to not pay enough, I might need a part-time PR consultant someday."

Nadia grinned. "Hmmm. It might be hard, but I'm sure I could make you look good."

Anders snickered. "Never let me give an unscripted press conference, and it should be a breeze."

Nadia saluted. "Sure. But what do I get out of it?"

"What do you want? I'm totally open to negotiation. Good wages plus benefits is a given."

"Hmmm. I think free cookies would be good."

"Totally. Free cookies, doughnuts, brownies, coffee . . ."

"Ooooo. Excellent. What other benefits can you offer?"

"I'd have to check. But I can definitely promise the baked goods for now."

"Good to know. If you need a PR girl, I'm on board. Assuming my own plans don't pan out."

"Hey, contingency plans are always good. Is this what they mean by networking?"

"Possibly? I've never really understood myself."
