Outside Criminal Justice Classroom, Tuesday morning

Bel managed to drag himself out of bed and headed down to the CJ classroom early so he could meet with Willow. He leaned against the wall, waiting.

"Right now I could use some advice," Willow said.

"Sure, what's up?" Bel asked, looking Willow over.

"Homecoming," Willow said. "I don't know what to wear!"

Bel blinked.

"Umm, a dress?"

"Got that part, but thank you," Willow said. "See, I need a guy's opinion on what a guy would like or be totally insulted by and normally I'd ask Xander but the one here can't be reached and the one back home... doesn't need to know about this event for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture and I know you and Peter don't have everything in common but you're still a guy so maybe?"

"...a pretty dress?" Bel said helplessly.

"I'm narrowing this down for you," Willow assured him. "See, Peter's from the 1940s. Only he's also from this world that has knights and courtliness an all that RenFairey stuff only without anybody actually serving you pizza which is totally inauthentic. So I was thinking, okay, maybe I should wear something 40sish? But he just came from knight-world so maybe I should go for something from that time period?

"But then I thought what if I'm doing that thing where people visit from other countries and you're all 'Hey, I prepared your native food!' and they're all 'Uh, thanks, but I could've gotten that back home?' So maybe I should pick something more modern? Only what if I pick modern and he picks something from home and then we don't match and he's the only one wearing an old fashioned outfit and he's lonely? And then I thought - "

Willow was going to keep babbling unless something stopped her. Unfortunately a need to breathe didn't seem to be that thing.

"Want me to find out what he's wearing?" Bel interrupted quickly. "That might help you narrow down your decision."

"Thoughtful, but I'm going shopping today," Willow said. "I was hoping maybe you could tell me what you'd like if you were from a different time period?"

"Umm, it's just a guess, but I'd say his standards of pretty are based on where he's from, so I'd go for something like that," Bel said. "But I think he'll think you're pretty no matter what you're wearing."

"Okay," Willow said. "Maybe I'll try to find something that's mixy. That could work, right?"

"Oh yeah," Bel said. "Find something medievally but with a modern taste to it?"

"Or a 40s taste to it," Willow said. She looked worried. "I hope he likes it."

Bel gave her A Look. "He's going to the dance with his girlfriend," he said. "You could wear a burlap sack and he'd think you're gorgeous."

"You think?" Willow said, still looking fretty.

"Trust me," Bel said. "He'll think you're hot whatever you're wearing."

"Okay," Willow said, even if she didn't look totally convinced. "Thanks, Bel. I'll call Hermione and see what we can cook up."

"Cool, thanks," Bel said. "Let me know as soon as you know anything so I know if I have to rob a bank or something to rent a carriage."

"You got it!" Willow said. "I'll keep you posted. Have fun in class!"

"Talk to you later," Bel said, waving as he headed into class.
