The Roof, Sunday Night

Dawn dragged her CD player up to the roof, plugged it in over by Bel's plants, and let loose--spinning and twirling and basically dancing like no one was watching--because they weren't. The music at the dance had been great, but Dawn was feeling the serious need to boogie to something from the latter half of the century.

Sometimes there was just no place for joy and happiness to go but out.

[ooc: Post is open to all--bring your own music and be a dancing fool!]

"Because you're used to magic?" Evie asked, trying to sway to "Macho Man" and ending up giggling more than anything. "We don't have it around so much, so I just assume they're hiding it from me. So it's perfectly plausible that I could have missed it, but I can see how it wouldn't be quite so much for you, then."

Door shakes her head. "It's not the magic as such. My family are sensitive to doors and gateways. If there was something like that right above my head and I missed it somehow, it'd be...weird."

"Ohhhh." Evie cocked her head. "Then I should think it doesn't exist in your world? Unless they did something extra-special to hide it. Can wizards do that? Carmela wasn't clear."

"They might be able to." Clearly this idea bothers Door more than it ought, and she needs to let it go. "Carmela suggested the thing with different Earths, though, so I suspect that's what it is."

Evie sang along with Macho Man for a moment, then said, "It's still quite nice that there are so many British students here, even if none of them are from my time. It's one little less bit of culture shock to be able to hear a familiar accent. I didn't think there would be any other ex-pats here. I think it would be a greater shock if someone from 1916 London did show up now."

"It'd be quite a shock if someone from my London showed up," Door says with a dry smile.
