Fourth Floor Common Room: Sunday Morning

Joxer was asleep on a couch in the common room, snoring loudly and drooling onto the upholstery.

He'd definitely get no service, when he woke up. He had no shirt and no shoes on, not to mention no socks or pants.

That is correct. He was in naught but a linen loincloth. If there was even an emergency need for a horde of Madrox's to attack something with Lysol, this situation probably called for it. That couch never knew what was coming.

Mind you, Joxer himself wouldn't know what was coming, either. He'd managed to sleepwalk his way out here during the night.

So here he was, all asleep, drooling, and almost naked. Let's see what happens.

Joxer's eyes started watering a little.

"I'm not going to have to go to the clinic, am I?"

Mac shrugged, "Depends. If you have mononucleosis you could end up with a ruptured spleen, or hepatitis."

"Have you eaten any particularly hot chillies lately?"

Joxer shook his head.

"I don't wanna go to the clinic," he said. "You can't make me go! Nothing can!"

"Not making you do anything," Mac said raising the hand that wasn't holding her mug in submission. "Just sayin', the drool is gross, and can kill you, or something."

"But the clinic can..."

Joxer whimpered.

"The clinic is unlikely to kill you," Mac said fiddling with the handle of her mug. "Doctors take a vow against doing that on purpose. It'd be breaking the hippocratic."

"Yeah, but they put things in places where things shouldn't be put," Joxer whimpered.

Mac raised an eyebrow at that. "Like what?"

Joxer gulped again.

"Some place that's normally only a place where things go out, not in."

Okay, picture her officially grossed out. She'd really rather not think about that. "Uh, first off, ew. Second? That's never been my experience. At all."

"It happened to me, last time," Joxer said. "Honest to Zeus."

"Uh, in the town clinic?"

Joxer nodded. "It was horrible."

"I'm trying not to imagine." And she really, really means that.

"It might be better this time?" Mac said hopefully.

"I really don't think I'm sick," Joxer said. "Even if my roommate is."

"If you say so," Mac said shrugging briefly. It seemed to be what he wanted to hear. How sincere she sounded about it, is up for debate.

There was a pause.

"I should probably go put some clothes on," Joxer said.

"That would probably be a really good idea," Mac agreed. She'd seen enough naked-Joxer to last her for a very long time.

Joxer set the couch cushion aside and make a break for it.

Mac waved at him as he left, and found herself a couch to lounge on. Definitely not the one that Joxer had drooled on.
