The Roof, Tuesday Evening

Hamlet headed up to the roof after his classes were over for the day. The roof was nice and cool this time of day, and it provided a great place to think about things.

It had been a fairly normal school day. Still he couldn't help feeling like he'd been forgotten to do something...

As the weather started turning colder, Billy started thinking about getting some warmer accoutrements. Maybe a black trench coat. Why he was thinking about that while heading up to the roof to meditate, probably had to do with the fact that the warmest thing he had really was an old denim jacket and a hoodie sweatshirt.

Both of which he was wearing as he emerged up onto the roof.

Hamlet looked over as another boy joined him on the roof, and nodded back. He was fairly certain he'd seen the other student around before.

"Billy, right?"

Phoebe haad bundled up aand headed up to the roof. A lot of people seemed to think it was a good place for thinking or relaxing -- and after the weekend she really did have a lot to think about.

Billy waved, then quickly shoved his hand back into his pocket. gloves might be a good investment soon. As it was, his hood was pulled so tight it might be hard to recognize him.

Rory hadn't really gone up to the roof before, but it was the eve of her eighteenth birthday, and she needed to think.

So she hauled her telescope up the stairs to the roof and settled down with it, pulling her gloves and hat on a little more securely before she fixed it to look at a certain dot star in the distance.

I didn't forget you, she thought, pretty sure he couldn't hear her but trying anyway. She'd told Luke and Vader, but the one person who needed to hear that was a galaxy away. All she could do was sit quietly and look at the stars.

It took Hamlet a couple of minutes to notice Rory, and a couple more before he tried to say anything. He had some vague suspicions about what the telescope was for, and didn't think it would be best to disturb her right away.

"Looking for far away galaxies?", he asked quietly.

Billy decided that Rory looked like she didn't want to be disturbed. He waved just in case that wasn't the case.

Phoebe waved at Rory.

Kawalsky headed up to the roof for some fresh air and to maybe throw stuff off the edge to pass the time. His plains were foiled when he saw the crowd of people all on the roof. "Roof's a social hotspot tonight, huh folks?"

Hamlet smiled a bit as he caught sight o his friend. "It seems to be so," he answered.

"'Hot' spot being entirely figurative," Rory remarked.

Evie was up and bouncing around after the cave exploring, squeeing quietly to herself. "Hello!"

"It's...a girl I don't know the name of. Welcome to the roof. Please enjoy your stay. Keep your hands and arms inside the roof...wait, that doesn't make sense..."

"Hello," answered Hamlet. The girl was certainly exuberant, but he couldn't place her name.

Blair came up after archeology club to meditate and looked around. "Busy night tonight."

"Well, the changing temperatures aren't any fun unless you really experience them," Rory said, pulling her coat more tightly around her. "Hi!"

"They're crowding my space. I was gonna throw things." Charlie wasn't really sulking, but he gave a good impression of it.

"This seems to be a busy place tonight," said Hamlet, giving Blair a wave. "Perhaps the administration has installed magnets up here to draw everyone in."

Aeryn's got a free minute, and she really just wants to be outside right now. So she grabs a (fashionable leather) coat and heads up to the roof, surprised at the traffic.

Feed the giraffe

A sudden thought crossed Hamlet's mind, and he clapped his hands together in realization. "That's what I forgot to do. No one's fed Earl in what must be ages."

He looked over the assembled group. "Would anyone care to help me feed a giraffe in a disguise fedora?"
