Fifth Floor Common Room - Monday Morning

Marie was starting to feel a lot better and decided that, in honor of Fall Break, she was going to bake muffins in the common room.

[open! i'm on slow play at work though.]

"East vs. West in a values cage match!" Willow said. "Only more footnotey and not like something they'd be airing on that network that plays Vanessa Saturn now."

"East vs. West as in coast to coast, or hemispheres?" asked Conner.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hemispheres," Willow said. Then, because in Fandom you needed to clarify these things, she added, "on Earth."

"Oh, cool." Conner nodded. "I did a paper sort of like that last year, only it was on culture instead of values. And probably not as footnotey."

He didn't mention that it had all been based on Abaranger. It sounded much less impressive that way.

"I love footnotes," Willow said. "They're so small and informative."

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really?" asked Conner. "They kind of distract me, and then I lose my place. Maybe there's some trick I'm missing."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"It takes practice," Willow said. "Especially depending on the kind of footnote. If they're not formatted properly it's just chaos."

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"So the first step in the war against chaos is making sure everyone has a Chicago Manual of Style? Conner guessed.

[OOC: *runs off for lunch for 30 or so*]

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"And if they don't pay attention? They get hit with it," Willow said.

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good motivation," Conner declared. "Those things hurt."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Especially if they're in hardcover," Willow agreed.

Conner saluted her solemnly. "Then I appoint you general and quartermaster of the anti-chaos army."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why thank you!" Willow said. "Do I get stars?"

[ooc: *smites work*]

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes," Conner said. "And bars, and gold piping, and that what's-it-called shoulder thing."

[OOC: Ooo! With the Chicago Manual of Style?]

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ooo - I like the shoulder thing," Willow said. "It manages to be formal but not untouchable, you know?"

[hee!]

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-31 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Plus you can put things on it and carry them around if you have to. It's functional!" Conner added.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-31 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Like your keys!" Willow agreed.

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-31 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Conner laughed. "And then you'd be jingly and shiny while you walked around!"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-31 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Plus never get locked out!"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-10-31 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, good. It'd be bad for morale if the general got locked out anyway."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-10-31 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Nobody'd want to follow them. Especially since you couldn't get inside where you were going anyway."
