Outside Hunting class, 7th period

Blair was bouncing excitedly as he waited in front of the hunting class. Angel was in town and according to the radio, he had made it through the meeting with Mr. Winchester alive. Well, not alive but still breathing...or...whatever. There had been no killing and that was a good thing.

Such a good thing that Blair figured he should promote non-killing today as well and he waved his sign proudly.

Just Say No to Killing!
Please refrain from bringing sharp wooden objects to today's class

Blair was about to make another smartass comment before he registered what John was saying. "Um...that's right, man."

"Never been to your class...yet?" Blair said hopefully, wondering if puppy dog eyes worked on hunting teachers.

John had been dealing with Sammy for fourteen years and so had built up some immunity to puppy eyes, but not a complete one. Smiling and shaking his head at himself, he asked, "Would you like to sit in on today's class, Mr. Sandburg?"

"YES!" Blair yelped and bounced extra high. "That'd be totally awesome, man! I've been thinking about how to get into your class but my inside contacts have sorta fallen through on intel and I thought about the ductwork but I'm not a huge fan of heights or anything so that wasn't my first choice but costumes might work only I haven't figured out who to impersonate yet and if I just show up as a random monster type person you might try and shoot me which would suck because I'd miss the class...plus getting shot so I really hadn't come up with a p-"

It was surprising how much Blair could say without taking a breath.

"And it never occurred to you to just ask?" John said, overriding the tsunami of words.

Blair blinked and took a deep breath. "Uh...no?"

"You should always try the simplest way first," John advised. "It'll save you a lot of trouble if it works."

"Huh." Blair shrugged and then bounced again. "So I can come to the class today? And listen to Angel? And ask questions? Even if they aren't good little hunter questions?"

"Yes," John told him. "As long as the questions don't include 'Winchester' and 'murderer' in the same sentence."

Scarily enough, Blair seemed to be making a mental note of that fact. "Gotcha, man. This is going to be so cool!"

John had a momentary worry that this had been a bad decision, but hell. He was letting a vampire speak, he might as well let a protester observe. He was pretty sure at least it wasn't going to be boring.

"I'm sure it will be," he said as hee opened the classroom door.

Blair bounced into the room, talking about the different forms of teaching that have been used throughout the world.

He figured that, as a teacher, John would be interested in his mini-lecture.
