The roof, Thursday night

It had taken a ~~handwavey~~ journey, but Nadia got her hands on the proper brownies for Parker, and was sitting on the edge of the roof nibbling on her first one while waiting for the other girl to show up.

Somehow, of all the people she thought she might have to do this ritual for, Parker had never been on the list of possibilities. Just went to show, you never knew what would happen.

Parker was having second thoughts-- well, third thoughts-- by the time she hit the roof, but didn't want to disappoint Nadia. And what the hell. At least it would be something different, right? "Hey. You been here long?" She scooted down to sit next to the other girl, and picked up a brownie, sniffing it before taking a small bite.

"Nope. Besides, it's a nice night."

"It is," Parker admitted, curling her legs underneath her, and taking a second bite. "And these taste good, whatever their other effects. Do I want to know where you got them?"

"Probably not. Plausable deniability and all that." Nadia grinned. "One rule for this evening: no emo is allowed. Anything else goes."

"No emo." Another bite, and Parker nodded. "Okay, that leaves me with... rage. Bitterness. Or, ignoring the whole concept of love and hearts and fairy tales that go wrong." She paused, swinging one leg, and nodded, finishing off the brownie. "Denial it is. Call me Cleopatra."

Nadia saluted. "Nice to meet you, Cleo. Yeah, avoiding is usually the way we end up going. Time to get goofy. I promise, there are no surveilance cameras."

"You swear?" Parker looked cautious. "I don't need *more* humiliation at this point. An alarm clock that won't stop doing the cha-cha is more than enough. Plus that damn tape of me singing."

"Alarm clock? Okay, that's a story I might have to hear. But I promise. I swept the roof for bugs when I got up here."

Parker took another brownie, eating this one a little more slowly. "Hmm. Okay. It's Zack Addy's fault." She sighed, shaking her head, taking another long, appreciative bite. If Jarod had been there, he probably would have had to stop watching at this point. "Sooooo, the little brat was hitting on me, really obnoxiously, when he was gremlin bit. And he had tapes of me as ChaCha, when we were all singing and dancing? And wouldn't give them too me. So I made him work out with me as payback. He was too intimidated to say no."

"Okay, I think I missed that. I thought you meant cha-cha, like the dance. But go on."

Parker facepalmed, and then giggled very, very quietly. "ChaCha liked to cha-cha. But noooo." She growled, finishing off her second brownie. "And then I got him drunk when he was already wired on some off-planet caffiene junk. And he gave me an *alaarrrm* clock that he made. He said he was trying to be nice."

Frowning, Parker repeated, "Alarm. Wow. That sounds funny. And the alarm? Was me. Dancing. As Cha-Cha. And it won't turn off for a whiiiiile in the morning." She shook her head sadly, and her shoulders and most of her torso got into it.

Nadia's grin grew as she watched Parker and munched on her first brownie.

Mission? Already a success. "Dude."

"That's me," Parker said very agreeably. "Dude. Dude. Bridge says it, so it must be so." She grinned at Nadia, and blinked mildly at the brownies. "Dude? Can I have another one?"

"You can have as many as you want." Nadia nibbled happily. "Dude is a good word."

"It is." Parker took another brownie, verrrry carefully broke it into quarters, and popped one piece in her mouth. "Dude. It's an adjective. It's and ex-cla-ma-tion. It's a noun. It's an interjection, it's..." She popped another piece in her mouth, then suddenly got the giggles.

"...hehehehehehheheheheee..."

Nadia giggled as well. "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude."

Parker couldn't breathe for giggling now, making little hic hee noises as she tried to stop.

Eventually, she wound down like toy losing its wind-up energy, and seriously said, "Dude. These. Are great brownies. Chocolatey. And nice." She popped another piece in her mouth, chewed, then pointed at Nadia. "You're the Man."

"~~No, that's my mom.~~ But then Blair would have to damn me!"

"Oh, noooooooooooooooooooo." Parker shook her head again, hair flying everywhere. "No damning! Everything is too cool to damn. Lookit the starssss." She pointed upward. "Cool."

Nadia leaned back to look. "Actually big and very hot."

"But far, far, far away. Like..." Munching slowing down as Parker thought. "Hollywood stars. Hot. But far away. So cool. Like Johnny Depp." She paused. "Mmm. Johnny Depp."

"Ooooo, yeah. Or-or, that guy who plays the friend on AKA."

Parker pouted. "Not the drippy blond friend, right? The cute friend with the yo-yo? And the smile?" She grinned, and ate another brownie quarter. "And mmmm. Voice. I like voices. He speaks French."

Nadia giggled. "Not as well as Perth does. But, yeah. Him."

"Mmmmm. Yes. He's big and warm and funny and I bet he's an animal in bed." Parker made more happy hummy noises, then took another brownie. "Yay."
