Nadia was sitting upside down on the couch, munching on a chicken empanada and reading a book.

The adventures of six miss-matched characters across a make-believe world were surprisingly engaging.

Bel wandered through on his way to his room. Nothing to see here, move along, pay no attention to the demon.

Molly wandered in to get a popsicle out of the freezer and then she plopped down in a chair. "Hey, Nadia. How are you?"

Chyeah, right. "How were the topless vampires?" Nadia called softly.

"Hey, Molly." Nadia closed her book around her finger and swung around to sit upright. "I'm okay, you?"

"Did someone like put up a poster about it or something?" Bel flailed. "Is there anyone who doesn't know?"

"I'm good," Molly said. "Well, except for losing the swoop bike race yesterday. That kind of sucked. But, I'll win the rematch, I'm sure of it." She grinned.

"Probably. I talked to Anders in class, today." Nadia smiled. "Not lecturing or anything. Just asking."

"Definitely." Nadia blinked. "What's a swoop bike?"

"I didn't know they were real vampires," Bel sighed. "I thought they were just pretending to be vampires, just some typical Vegas show."

"You're the second person to ask me that in a week," Molly said a little incredulously. "A swoop bike is like a motorcycle only it doesn't have tires; it hovers. Mine used to belong to Anakin."

"Didja kill 'em?"

Nadia blinked again. "Okay, that's totally cool. Who were you racing?"

Jamie ran into the lounge and full speed slid across the floor and vaulted himself into a chair.

Which promptly fell over.

"Meant to do that!"

"Sam Carter, Cam and Alec," Molly told her. "Alec won. I came in third."

"Yeah, we took care of them," Bel said, dancing around the truth a little since he personally hadn't killed any of them.

"Who came in second?"

[nadiathesaint]

"Well, then, cool. Probably saved a buncha naive tourists."

Bel smiled slightly. "Yeah, we're regular heroes," he said.

"Sam did. I was in the lead at one point, but we went through the preserve and I haven't driven on little windy paths enough."

"Heck yeah. Here, here." Nadia grinned. "Has Phoebe heard about your heroic exploits, yet?"

"Well, see, that's totally not your fault. And would it be at all possible for me to get to try riding one, some time?"

"Oh, sure! Have you ever ridden a motorcycle before?"

Bel rubbed the side of his neck. "We haven't talked much about it yet," he admitted. "She's been pretty tired after the trip and having to run Caritas right away when we got back."

Nadia nodded. "Yeah, I got some practice in on one when I went home this summer." If by 'practice', one meant 'spent a lot of time training to drive anything with a motor'. "Is it really similar?"

"Yeowch. That would do it. Word to the wise? I would totally let her think that you knew they were real vampires and were being heroic."
