Outside the Front Doors: Tuesday 10 AM

Lana did some stretches, limbering up for her run. She wondered if Conner would actually get up and come to run with her, but she figured either way she should get back into the habit again. And besides, you never knew who else might be interested in going running.

"Born and raised," Conner said, just as good-naturedly. "Maybe I'll get used to real winters. Who knows?"

He pulled one of the sweatshirts back on, then tossed the other one over his shoulder. "So when's a good time for the next run?"

"Um... Thursday, maybe? I work tomorrow and Friday mornings. Or over the weekend?"

"I've got a second period class on Thursday, but any time before or after that works for me," Conner agreed. "Unless you'd rather go over the weekend."

"After?" Lana suggested. "I don't have class till after lunch, so that would work. And after that we can decide if we want to try the weekend."

She grinned. "We might end up being so sore we need the weekend to recuperate."

Conner laughed. "Yeah, safer that way, isn't it? I'm totally free after second period anyway. Thursday it is, then. And I'll even remember not to bring so many sweatshirts next time."

"Great." She hesitated for a moment. "Okay. I'm gonna go get cleaned up. I'll see you in class."

"Yeah, same here," agreed Conner, checking his pockets for his keys. They were there, luckily. "Thanks again, Lana. It was fun."

"It was, wasn't it?" Lana said. "You're welcome. It was really good for me to get out too and I might not have done it on my own. And it's good to have something to look forward to."

And something to help keep my mind off things, she thought.
