APOCALYPSE CENTRAL! COME HELP RESEARCH, DROP OFF FOOD, OR CONTRIBUTE! DOUGHNUTS APPRECIATED.

Then she sat down at one of the tables, surrounded by old, thick, dusty, leather-bound books written in a variety of languages and selected one at random. It would help if Giles had given her anything to go on. What the heck counted as a minor apocalypse these days?

AFAIK, there is nothing coming that isn't already known about by someone--this is a non-starter, unless someone wants to throw clues in about their own upcoming plots. "There's an appocalypse coming?" Schrodinger asked from next to Dawn.

Yeah, as per usual, he hadn't been there a moment ago.

"What makes you think the end of the world "may be" coming?"

"The sign on the bookstore that said that's where the owner went."

"And how do we know that the bookstore owner is not a crazy person?"

"I know him, or a version of him, from home." Which didn't mean he wasn't crazy.

"Nope," she shook her head.

"Ah. So, the four horsemen coming soon? They're important to the end of the world."

"The sign said minor...so, um, maybe we get the guys on ponies?"

"You wanna no something interesting?" Schrodinger asked.

"Sure...." Dawn hoped his definition of interesting didn't coincide with the one from Chinese curses.

"The Four Horsemen dont' actually ride horses. Not anymore."

Dawn snickered. "What, they ride motorcycles? Oooh, or Vespas? Because that would be all kinds of intimidating."

"Famine and Pestilence are lazy. They are carried by vehicles. Large as several city blocks. War and Death are a little more active. They walk, run, and jump around. After all, Famine and Pestilence are passive, but War and Deat are active."

"Famine and Pestilence can be just as active," Dawn argued, "just look at places like Africa and India."

"Famine and Pestilence are slow. It takes months to starve. Diseases eat away at you. But War? War is a flash of violence that makes your heart beat like a drum as you dodge the bullets and the swords and the spears and arrorows. And Death is... well, Death."
