Third Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Dawn stuck a sign on the door with some scotch tape.

APOCALYPSE CENTRAL! COME HELP RESEARCH, DROP OFF FOOD, OR CONTRIBUTE! DOUGHNUTS APPRECIATED.

Then she sat down at one of the tables, surrounded by old, thick, dusty, leather-bound books written in a variety of languages and selected one at random. It would help if Giles had given her anything to go on. What the heck counted as a minor apocalypse these days?

[ooc: Open to all. Dawn's *hugely* overreacting to the sign Giles left on Aeropaegetica. AFAIK, there is nothing coming that isn't already known about by someone--this is a non-starter, unless someone wants to throw clues in about their own upcoming plots. Otherwise, have fun making up weird prophecies.]

"An apocalypse?" Lavender asked nervously.

"You need a database you can, like, search by date or something." Lavender knitted her brows. "Well, gimme something to read. Maybe I can help." Lavender sat cross legged on the floor.

"There's an appocalypse coming?" Schrodinger asked from next to Dawn.

Yeah, as per usual, he hadn't been there a moment ago.

"What makes you think the end of the world "may be" coming?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Joxer stopped at the door and attempted to read the sign.

"Ap... Apo... Apackle... Apooklie..."

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Joxer sprung into his 'ready for action' pose. "Not if I can stop it!"

Evie had been on her way up to the 5th floor with some Jeff, God of Biscuits muffins, and stopped when she saw the sign.

"Can I help?" she asked the room at large. "I'm very good at research... And I have food!"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooo! Some? I'm familiar with it, but not what I'd call fluent?" She sat down and put the muffins down on the coffee table. "And are we looking for anything specific? Rivers of blood, rains of fire, days of darkness?"

Evie waved back with a muffin. "Poppyseed? If you're not eating it over the books? And how have you been?"

"Apocalypse, huh?" Carmela says, sitting down crosslegged in front of a stack of books.

[identity profile] grenfelzer.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"All right," Carmela says, taking a book and squinting curiously at the language she doesn't recognise. "See, this is when it'd be handy if the Speech worked for written languages as well as spoken ones," she grumbles, flipping through the pages.

"Hello, Carmela. It's very worrying," Evie said, holding up her book. "And not at all something one expects on a Thursday. Shouldn't this be a Monday activity? I feel as if we need to know everything by tomorrow!"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Conner stalked into the common room after self-defense club, and didn't even notice the sign as he slumped into a chair.

"Hey, Carmela," he mumbled. You'd think he'd be more enthusiastic, but he's had a bad day.

Joxer returned after about forty minutes with three notebooks, a packet of pens, a box of donuts from Jeff, GOB, and bunch of apples from A&S.

"Who wants jelly donuts?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"You're welcome," Joxer said. "Least I can do until we know what to attack, right? I'm not so good with the reading stuff."
