The Roof, Tuesday Night

Yep, it was that time again -- time to go up to the roof, smoke, and brood over what to get people for Christmas.

Okay, actually Anders was brooding over his conversation with Parker yesterday, but still. There was also Christmas-shopping brooding going on. Look, he could multitask, all right? Two kinds of brooding and smoking, all at once. There was even pacing back and forth.

Skilled, that guy. Really.

Anders grinned. "You might have to convince me to tell you."

"And how should I do that?" Bel purred.

"You'll think of a way. It might be hard," Anders added, a little extra emphasis on that last word, "but you'll come up with something."

"And here I figured you'd be dying to tell me," Bel mused. "Now who's the tease?"

"Hey, just because I take it doesn't mean I can't dish it out too," Anders told him.

Bel snorted. "Now you are dreaming," he snickered.

"Aw. Never wanted to find out?" Anders asked. "Maybe that's what I've been imagining."

"And it's gonna stay in your imagination," Bel growled dangerously.

Anders snapped his fingers and feigned disappointment. "Damn. Oh well -- the other way around sure makes for a few nice dreams too."

"Keep playing your cards right and it won't be just dreams," Bel said. Of course, his hungry tone indicated it wouldn't be a burden for him, either.

Anders chuckled. "I have told you what happened last time I played cards."

"Strip triad, huh?" Bel said, smirking.

"I lost," Anders reminded him, smirking right back.

"Yeah, but I don't need cards to get you to take your clothes off," Bel said smoothly.

"Of course not." Anders gave him a slow, knowing smile. "Just say the word."

"Oh yeah?" Bel said, intrigued. "Okay then. Strip."

"I don't know," Anders said slowly, both hands already at the hem of his sweatshirt. "It's kind of cold. I'd be freezing."

Bel conjured up a fireball. "I can keep you warm," he said slyly.

"And attract all kinds of attention to the fact that I'm standing naked on the roof?" Anders asked, raising an eyebrow.

Bel looked around. "Yeah, I can see how that might be a problem for the whole discrete thing," he said. "Maybe some other time then."

"Kind of a shame, really," Anders drawled. "Otherwise I would've. But then you'd have people asking questions, and that would ruin everything."

"And we can't have that," Bel said. "'Course, I could just ask for a private show in your room or something, couldn't I?"

"You've already seen it all," Anders reminded him. "But if you want to see it again, well . . . not that I'd be objecting."

"Yeah, seen it," Bel said, smirking. "Felt it, too."

"Not as much as I'd like," Anders replied. "I mean -- as you'd like, I bet."
