Third Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Dawn sprawled out across one of the chairs, leaning against one arm and her legs hanging over the other, reading a book she'd found somewhere--Deep Six--The Further Adventures of Lt. Tibbs, by Thom E. Gemcity. The prose was a little more flowery than it needed to be, but as a crime novel, it wasn't bad. The Thom guy needed to do a little more research, though. There was no way the stuff or people he was describing actually existed in real life.

Occasionally, she dipped one of the sugar cookies on the plate on the table (baked fresh from the Pillsbury tube o' doughy goodness) into one of the flavors of frosting, and scooping some up. Oooh, dark chocolate this time.

[ooc: Open, and full of almost homemade cookies, as such things are.]

"Yeah," Conner said, looking a little distracted at the prospect. "I'll bet."

Oh, sure, make him feel less special. "Uh . . . well, no? Listen," he said, changing the subject abruptly, "does my hair look funny? Like wrong somehow?"

"I'm a little paranoid," Conner explained. "Pippi said it looked fine, but she was giving me this funny look when she said it, like the kind of look you get when you have something on your face but people won't tell you you do."

Conner touched his hair gingerly, like he was afraid it would feel wrong. "Well, thanks. It was getting kind of weird looking at myself in the mirror and getting confused, anyway."
