Fifth floor common room, Tuesday evening

After the buzz of yesterday, Nadia was feeling a bit gloomy again. She'd managed to get herself some soup without too much "I can only use one arm!" trauma, and that, combined with some hot chocolate, was working wonders for her ability to pretend it wasn't effin' freezing outside.

Her shoulder was aching again, though, and as she sat on the couch with the TV on quietly in the background, she went over what she could remember of the troll battle, trying to figure out where things had gone square shaped.

"They wanted to play with my ears," Schrodinger said. "I didn't really like that that much."

"But they're so cute and fuzzy," Tyler said. "Couldn't you get them fixed?"

"Hey, would you like it if I came over there and started to tug hard on your ears?"

"Not unless you were female and much more attractive," Tyler said. "Point made."

Schrodinger nodded. "It got annoying from there. Esecially when they crused my head with a park bench."

"A crushed head always wrecks my day," Tyler agreed mildly. "Glad it see it's back in one piece."

"Yeah. It has a habit of doing that. It's a neat trick."

Something in Schroedinger's tone made Tyler realize he was serious. "Even if it's really bloody?" he asked. "Or what if the troll pulled it off?"

"Same thing that would have happened if they had crushed my chest. Or removed my heart. Or most anything."

"Useful set of skills," Tyler said. "I'm standard human. Try not to let it hold me back."
