Fifth floor common room, Tuesday evening

After the buzz of yesterday, Nadia was feeling a bit gloomy again. She'd managed to get herself some soup without too much "I can only use one arm!" trauma, and that, combined with some hot chocolate, was working wonders for her ability to pretend it wasn't effin' freezing outside.

Her shoulder was aching again, though, and as she sat on the couch with the TV on quietly in the background, she went over what she could remember of the troll battle, trying to figure out where things had gone square shaped.

"That's not dishonesty," Schrodinger responded. "That's just economy of words."

"I don't trust you."

"Awww. That hurts me Nadia. I trust you."

Nadia glaced to the side to see if Walter was listening, then lean forward. "I don't know what you did to Walter that night, but if I get my hands on that remote, you're not going to be able to find it, ever again."

"Well, Nadia," Schrodinger responded, leaning in, "That would be difficult, as that remote isn't mine at all. I don't have it. I only get it on very rare occasions, and I honestly don't know all of what it does. You'd have to talk to my creator."

Nadia grabbed for the front of Schrodinger's shirt. "You and your 'creator' need to leave me and Walter alone now, got it?"

Schrodinger smirked. "Or what?"

"Or you both might have to find out exactly what I can do."

"And what, exactly can you do?" Schrodinger asked. "Is it interesting? Is it scary? Is it impressive? Is it useful, is it cool? I'm a cat, after all. We're curious."

Nadia smirked darkly at him. "And doesn't it just kill you that you. Don't. Know."

Schrodinger burst into laughter. He stepped back and bent over as he clutched at his ribs. As he regained his composure, he approached Nadia again. "Somehow, I think I'll find my way back on my feet again, Little Miss Super-Spy."

Nadia just looked at him seriously for a long moment. "But it might just suck to get tehre."

"Not really. Haven't you noticed that getting anywhere is really easy for me? Why should this be any different?"

"I'd find a way."

"Good luck. People much smarter than you have been trying for years. Although, to be fair, let's check. How tall are you?"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"I only listen to three people. You're not one of them. I'm only scared of one person. And guess what? You're too short to be him."

"Then clearly, you're an idiot."

"You wound me Nadia. I'd never insult you like that."

Nadia shrugged. "And before your 'creator' sent his little package, I wouldn't have attacked you with needles. I'd say fair is fair."

"Oh, so needles is your plan? Thanks for telling me. Now I won't be so curious."

Nadia just smirked again.

Schrodinger leaned forward and patted her on the head. "You're so cute when you think you're being coy and badass."

Nadia twitched and tensed, but didn't respond.
