Outside of hunting class: 7th Period

Blair was carrying both a sign and a petition today and he was very happy that to have his cast off for this sort of protest day. Marching back and forth before the door he chanted the message on his sign. "Education for everybody! Support the male troll scholarship!"

Every once in a while he would yell out; "Hunting sucks!" Just in case there was a rule about protesting random things in front of hunting class.

Supporting Blair in protesting was probably a good idea, considering the past week. River smiled as she walked up to give him a hug. "Helping the trolls? That's very generous of you."

"Hey, River." Blair smiled and shifted his sign sideways so he could give River a hug. "Thanks, I really think everyone should have the chance for education."

Nadia heard the chanting from some distance away, and was already rolling her eyes as she approached. "Oh lord, no."

River hugged him, avoiding to bump her head into the sign. "You think the male trolls are clever enough?" she asked.

"Honestly, I never talked to one." Blair said, hugging her back. "But I think everyone has the capacity for knowledge...even if they have some problems."

"You don't want to educate the trolls?" Blair asked. "Or you don't think hunting sucks?"

This was probably not a good time to describe her impression of the male trolls. River changed the subject. "How are the fish?"

"Good. They used to only swim and bounce and now they do this wavy thing." Blair smiled. "I think it might be a tentacle impression."

"I don't want to go to school with trolls." Nadia gestured with her glove-covered hand to her brace covered shoulder. "They're the reason I'm still in this thing."

River grinned. "Good. Learning things." She looked inside her bag and found a crumpled present wrapped in gold paper. She handed it to Blair. "For you."

"Are you okay?" Blair asked, looking Nadia over. "I don't want you to be hurt and I'm sure if the trolls come to school here they'll have to follow the rules of not hurting people."

"But maybe it's because they aren't allowed to go to school that they're so violent."

"What is it?" Blair asked, starting to unwrap the paper.

"'m fine," Nadia muttered. "How do you know they even want to go to school? Maybe they're happy being dumb. Ignorance is bliss."

River said nothing and just watched him unwrap it. It contained a set of neon coloured glitter pens.

"Pens?" Blair bounced excitedly and enveloped River in another hug. "They're awesome, River! Thank you!"

"Why wouldn't they want to go to school?" Blair asked, a little shocked. "Besides, it's not like I'm going to force them. I just want to give them the opportunity."

Returning the hug, River said: "Buffy and I went shopping but that hasn't been played yet"

"So is this like an early Christmas present or something?"

"No, it's an 'I went shopping and wanted to buy you something"-present."

"Those are the best kinds." Blair nodded with a smile. "So how are you doing after yesterday?"

He wanted to make sure the seeing a counselor thing didn't cause nightmares or panicky feelings.

"Good," River said. "No nightmares or panic attacks." She smiled. "She was nice and sensible."

"She did seem pretty nice." Blair said with a bounce, very happy that River was okay. "I think she helped."

"Me too," River replied. She gave Blair another hug before turning away. "Need to arrange new stuff now. Good luck with protesting."

"Then they should get their own special troll school. And some people don't want to be educated. They just want to be what they are. Dumb and violent."
