School Grounds (Outside the Garage), Monday Morning (2nd Period - Noon)

Anders didn't see much point in going back to his room to study, since he'd been in there all weekend as it was. (Damn Sims 2.) Besides, it was snowing, and his Pyramid playbooks had seen fit to start battering him about the head, which was not exactly his idea of toughening up against hard hits on the court.

So here he was, sitting cross-legged on his Glider out in the snow, studying like a crazy thing for his Interstellar Relations final, his Pyramid ball beside him.

Every now and then a textbook would hover up and try to divebomb him, so he'd throw the ball at it.

At least it was a good opportunity to get in some work on his shooting technique while he studied.

[OOC: Open like whoa, as Murphy's Law has decided it would be funny to give me . . . nothing to do at work today.]

The Doctor was wandering the grounds when he noticed the young fellow floating and studying.

"Do books normally attempt to attack you?" he asked.

"Oi, watch your language," the Doctor said. And mentally chuckled that he wouldn't dream of correcting Jane on such a thing. "I think perhaps you might be better off working less with books and more with that ball of yours."

"I'm just saying you demonstrate a lot of good talent," the Doctor said. "Not saying you should give up on a good education. Just saying that when books bite you, you might want to move on. Temporarily, of course."

"Ah, not the kind to give up just because they betray you, good," the Doctor said. It'll prepare you for your future wife.

"Well, I suppose it'll all work out for you," the Doctor said. "Try not to get a concussion."

"The repercussions of concussions are very horrible," the Doctor admitted. He gave a little nod. "Good luck on your test." He turned to leave.

Peter had meant to study for IR, but when the books attacked, he gave up and thought going outside was a better idea.

"Morning, Anders," he said with a grin. "You having literary problems as well?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-12-18 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"I hadn't even thought of that," Peter replied, looking horrified. "Books ought to stay where they're set."

Peter couldn't help laughing at both Anders' expression and his reaction to the low level attacked. "Perhaps Roslin will postpone the exam? We can't be expected to take one if the books attack, right?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-12-18 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's probably the truth," Peter said, watching the books warily. "But I think we might be able to make the case that when things brainlessly attack without stopping to think, negotiation is irrelevant."

"Exactly. They're like some strange automaton," Peter replied. He didn't take his eyes off of any of the books in the vicinity. "Other than being attacked by books, how've you been?"
