Fifth floor common room - Saturday afternoon

Molly had once again taken over the kitchen for cookie baking. This time it was for Christmas presents for her friends so she was only making a couple different kinds. Unlike the many varieties she'd made for the Thanksgiving dinner.

First on the list was a separate bowl of cookie dough just for her and Dawn to eat.

[[OOC: Post is open. Anybody who comes by will get Christmas cookies, but I may be slow to ping as I am seriously multi-tasking today. Please do stop by though. :D]]

"I don't think I get salmonella," he said, taking some dough, intrigued. Trying some, his eyes widened a little. "Mmm, this is good. Almost better than after being cooked."

"Yes!" Dawn was a little proud of Alec. His understanding of junk food was almost as good as Xander's. "That's why there's a separate eating bowl, because otherwise we'd keep eating the cooking dough, and there wouldn't be any cookies, and that would be sad."

"You guys are smart," Alec said, grinning as he took another bit of dough. "Tasty dough and you still get to make cookies."

"It's a good system. Molly's idea, though." Dawn started spooning cookies out onto baking sheets. "Are you staying here for Christmas?"

Alec nodded. "Yeah, are you?" He gave her a hopeful look. "Jaye's already gone and it seems like the dorms are clearing out."

"Yep, you're stuck with me," she smiled back, "Molly's going to Los Angeles, too. Chad and Pippi were talking about having a pool party on Christmas, but I may be in a junk food and movie being a lump extravaganza instead. Choosing between bathing suits and jammies is tough, y'know?"

It was possible the sugar from the cookie dough was beginning to kick in.

"A pool party for Christmas? Is that normal?" He said, when he was able to get a word in edgewise. "And great, that means I can actually give someone their gift on Christmas."

"Normal? I guess it depends...the tradition is snow and lights and opening presents at oh dark thirty while in your pajamas, and then a big dinner later. Snow and pools don't really go together." She bounced. "And I can give you yours, then, too!"

Alec grinned at her, moving the bowl of dough out of Dawn's arm's reach. "Dean's making me stay with him because of socks."

Dawn pouted at the removal of the dough. "Socks?"

"Stockings? I dunno, it has to do with Santa Claus, I think," Alec said, smirking at her pout.

"Oooooh," Dawn nodded, then wrinkled her nose at Alec's smirk, "Yeah, you hang these huge oversize things by a fireplace, and they get filled with presents before you wake up." She decided to keep her mouth shut on the subject of Santa and disemboweling.

"Dean say's he's not real," Alec said, eyeing her a moment. He finally pushed the bowl back towards her, arching an eyebrow.

"Well, sometimes Dean isn't as smart as he thinks he is," Dawn snorted, then took some dough. "I have it on very good authority that, at least in my dimension, there is definitely a Santa Claus."

"Really?" Alec blinked. "So what does he actually do?"

"Er," she fidgeted, "Are you sure you want to hear this? It's not really happy."

Alec frowned. "Yeah, sure. Why?"

"He disembowels little kids," Dawn said grimly.

He blinked again. "...I don't think that was anything like what Dean said about him."

"Yeah, no," Dawn looked a little sheepish. "Usually it's an eight tiny reindeer, delivering presents in one night and eating cookies story."

"Weird," Alec said. "Now I'm kind of hoping there's not a Santa where I come from."

"He's usually imaginary, so I think you're probably okay."

"Now I'm confused," Alec complained.

Dawn sighed. "Okay, everywhere except my home dimension, I think, Santa Claus is a myth. He doesn't exist, but he's used to get little kids to be good for the month of December, so they can get their presents. But my home is a little...off."
