Fifth floor common room, Thursday around noon

Vacation was all well and good, but Nadia was starting to get bored. So she was out in the common room, listening to the CDs she'd gotten yesterday, with her laptop. One window on it had notes for the "Evil flying pink pony awareness party", the other had her somewhat neglected epic adventure story.

Yes, Elena and Marco were currently being attacked by evil, flying pink ponies. And a new friend, Tad, had appeared in the narrative. He was a very tall Filipino with a penchant for flirting with . . . well, just about anyone, but especially Jean, the skateboarding star from Quebec.

[ooc: another day, another bout of absolutely nothing going on at work. Open!!]

"That doesn't mean he isn't better off. Sure, he doesn't have all the flashy powers, but he doesn't have that evil in his being he has to fight all the time either." He glanced at Alec. "Being transgenic is completely different than that. I'd be pissed for you too if something took that away from you somehow."

Alec shook his head. "I don't know. It's still what he is-- was, I guess, now. He was born that way, right?"

"Yeah, and I'll give you that he's shown a hell of a lot of strength of character to not give into his demon side, at least not much."

"I really don't think it's all that different from being transgenic," Alec said after a moment of thought.

"Dude,it really is," Dean told him. "You're nothing like a demon."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Alec smirked. "Less un-alike than you think," he said, voice lowered slightly.

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Not in the ways that count," Dean told him earnestly. "You're far better than any demon."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
"But in terms of having a side of yourself you have to fight not to give in to?" Alec smiled slightly at Dean's tone.

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Dean asked. "I thought... what are you fighting against? The whole be a good soldier brainwashing?" he guessed.

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Sort of," Alec said, making a slight face before smirking once more - much more the mask than honest amusement. "They trained us to use our instincts and urges, especially in battle. The non-human ones."

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Dean shook his head. "That's all a part of you though. And non-human or not, it's not... not evil. Pretty much the opposite really."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Being half-demon is part of Bel though," Alec said. "He's human now, he's lost part of what he is - turned into something different. You couldn't make me full-human without making me something I'm not."

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, granted," Dean admitted grudgingly. "But we're talking demon here, Alec. Dad's class aside, you've never had to face one, seen the damage they can do."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
"You've never seen what I can do," Alec said, looking at Dean solemnly. "Or what others like me can do."

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
"I can imagine," Dean said, equally solemnly, meeting Alec's gaze steadily. "But I'm pretty sure none of you have ever pinned a woman to the ceiling and set her on fire. That's the kind of atrocity that is all in a day's work for demons."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
The corner of Alec's mouth twitched faintly, but he didn't smirk; Dean deserved more consideration than that. "Yeah, none of us have done that, exactly."

[identity profile] saltandammo.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Look, I get what you're saying," Dean told Alec. "I do really. Everyone has a dark side and is capable of some pretty awful things. And maybe transgenics have a darker side than most -- I'm not sure I buy that though but I'll grant it could be possible."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Alec shrugged. "Then we agree."
