Turtle felt as though her day had been very successful. She'd scoped out the town, gotten herself a job (starting tomorrow! How exciting!), and had picked up a total of two dollars and seventy two cents in change as she walked around the island. A very good day, indeed, especially since, she could tell from her handwavily grabbed copy of the Wall Street Journal that SEA hadn't continued to drop, and the one she was scoping had raised, but not enough that it wouldn't be enough for her SEA to fail to cover it in a few days. Looking pretty good!

Grabbing a bowl of cereal for her dinner, Turtle plopped out the couch, tucked her Journal beside her, and turned on the television. Now that she didn't have her mother restricting her TV time, she definately wanted to see what kind of channels they got here at the school.

"True. But the difference will even out as we approach infinity," Jim said.

"That'll be awhile, though," she replied. "I promise I'll be nice to you in spite of my superior rank."

"And I promise that I'll try not to be insubordinate," Jim said. "That could be tough, though. I have a knack for polite insubordination."

"So polite I might not even spot it?" Pam asked.

"No, you'll spot it. Possibly not until I apologize for it, though," Jim said.

"I'll just wait for the apologies, then," Pam said. "So where were you before today?"

"I was at home," Jim joked. "Which is in Massachusetts."

Pam smiled. "Aw, you're even further from home than me. I'm from Pennsylvania."

"I've always wanted to visit Pennsylvania," Jim said. "Wait, so I win at both newness and distance from home? I am surprisingly awesome."

"Don't let it go to your head," Pam advised.

"Sorry, I already have. I am officially a superstar in my own mind," Jim said. "But with how fast this is going, by tomorrow morning I'm probably going to crash and burn and be in rehab."

Pam nodded seriously. "I'll visit you and bring you craft supplies so as to pass your time in rehab without further harming yourself."

"I appreciate it," Jim said. "Just make sure the popsicle sticks aren't likely to give me splinters, if you don't mind?"

"It'd be cruel not to," Pam said.

"Well, that makes you the best Pam ever," Jim said, kinda dorkily.

"Wow, I feel so honored," she said, smiling. "I mean, I could be an awful person and you're already locked into that judgement."

"It's a judgement that I think will turn out just fine," Jim said. "You really don't give off an awful person vibe."

"That's true. I don't even own a gun or flamethrower," Pam said, looking a little weirded out. "That's apparently a requirement here."

Jim blinked. "Well, that's... goood? Think I could get by with a super soaker?"

"That was my thought, though I think the water might be drugged," she confessed. "So it's like a second weapon, really."

"Why do you think the water might be drugged?" Jim asked.

"Have you talked to people?" Pam asked. "Everyone keeps telling me they're from the past and there are troll invasions. And I know I sound just as crazy, but that girl asked me if I have a flamethrower." She tilted her head at Parker. "And my roommate insists she's a princess."

"My roommate keeps telling me that there are - and I quote - 'hot alien chicks' around here, so maybe there's something to this drugged water theory," Jim pondered. "On the other hand, he's also not completely positive that he hadn't been drinking yesterday, so the water may not be his biggest problem."

"...did I maybe miss a giant party in the morning?" Pam wondered. "So everyone was drunk?"

"From everything else I'm hearing, that would explain a lot," Jim said.
