JD was in the common room, baking cookies. Or, rather, trying to bake cookies. If he could just stop eating the dough. So far none had actually made it into the oven.

Laddie, his stuffed dog, was with him, dressed in a chef hat and holding a whisk in his mouth.

Pippi wandered into the common room to meet Pip for their stargazing date.

JD stared at Pippi, a wooden spoon of dough partway to his mouth.

Good evening, my shining star.

JD squeaked, something that might have been a hello. The cookie dough didn't move.

"Oh hey JD! Where've you been?"

"Oh, uh, right. I've been home. Mom got remarried so I was spending time with the family. I'm back for school now."

I will have my revenge.

JD raised an eyebrow, obviously not understanding why Pippi was congratulating him.

Now that most of the new people at least knew what rooms they were supposed to be in, Evie went bouncing down the hallway to see if there were any to find. "Oh! JD! Hello, how are you? I haven't seen you since before the trolls attacked."

JD nodded, finally starting to eat his cookie dough again.

"Yeah, I had to go home to," JD made quotes out of his fingers, "meet the new family. It happens every couple of years."

Evie blinked. "You got a little brother or sister? And what kind of cookie dough is that?" She hopped up on a chair, then just stared at Laddie. "Ummm...."

JD scratched Laddie's ear, oblivious to Evie's concern.

"Yeah, sort of. She's about two years older than me. Her name's Mel."

But she totally wants me.

JD grinned. "And this," he brandished the dough, "will be chocolate chip cookies."

"Splendid! May I taste?" Evie asked hopefully. "And ohh, your father or mother re-married? Was there a big wedding?" She looked at Laddie again, then had to ask. "That dog-- is that a *stuffed* dog?"

JD offered a spare spoon to Evie. "Please partake of my culinary delights!"

Crap! Did that sound dirty? It wasn't dirty. I mean, I think she's pretty, but she's not that pretty. Well, yeah, she is. But I don't want to tell her that now. She'll think I'm a freak.

"I AM NOT A NAUGHTY BOY!" JD's eyes shifted from side to side and then coughed. "Ahem. Right. This is my mom's third husband. I think. And yes, he is. I got him on Ebay."

After getting horribly lost yesterday, Henry wanted to make sure that it didn't happen again. So of course, he went right out and got lost in the dorms.
Henry walked into the common room, and spotted JD. "Making cookies?"

Oh the smell of cookies. It seems to tame even the savage beast, this means she's safe talking to anyone. "Hello there. You look a little lost, am I right?"

Lost? Oh, no, not them. Edward has the tracking senses of a wolf.
Henry nods. "Yes."

"Well there's no shame in that. Unless of course you've been here for a few months already." She smirks.

Henry put up his hands as if trying to brush away the wrong idea. "No, nothing like that. It's only my second day here."

"Well then you're safe. Well as safe as you can be at a strange school like this one. At least the stairs don't move like in those wizard books. because I can't find the damn Harry Potter meta name, that what took me so long. I'm Matilda." She puts out a hand to shake. "And you are?"

Matilda was so BORED when there were no classes to study. She found what appeared to be cookies in the 5th common room. This was a good reason to stay there. "Hello there!" Best to introduce yourself to the person you were goign to steal cookies from.

Liz hadn't been in one of the common rooms yet and so she decided to try and be social, "hi," she said as she entered.

"Great! So do you get along with your roommate?"
