Third Floor Common Room - Thursday Morning

Katara had woken up early and slipped out of her dorm room quietly. She considered going outside for a moment, but she decided to explore the floor she'd ended up on.

Finding herself in a big open room with several couches and tables and quite a few big boxes she had no idea about, she up a small floppy book made out of shiny paper and began to flip through it, looking at the pictures.

Cassie wandered up a floor again, to see what was going on.

She was wearing the nametag she'd gotten and filled out. She didn't actually like the idea of what she'd written. But she was being stubborn and thought it would hurt Teddy, just like he'd been hurting her.

She was not a very rational girl, sometimes.

"Hi," Cassie said. "I... don't think we've met yet."

Returning from Michigan, where he'd *handwavily* spent the break with the rest of his family, Zack noticed Katara as he headed for his room. "Did we get new students in already?"

Katara looked up with a grin. "No, I'm an illusion, you know."

"I think you're right," she said. "I'm Katara. Are you new too?"

Zack shrugged. "That's not out of the realm of possibility for this place," he said. "Would your illusionary self like a cup of coffee?"

"It's not?" Katara asked. "And I don't know what coffee is. So maybe?"

Jamie is wearing a name tag that says "Jamie #13" as he wanders the dorm and finally wanders into the CR.

"Hello new people and old. Where's the free food?"

"There's supposed to be free food?" Katara asked.

"The island is regularly invaded by zombies, mummies, jello dragons, trolls, all sorts of things, and that's before you get to the student body," Zack replied matter-of-factly.

"You've never had coffee?" He looked if not as shocked as Jake or Rory would have, then at least somewhat perturbed at the idea of someone not knowing what coffee was, and quickly poured her a cup. "It's the second most important substance known to man."

"The fridge, were it usually is," Zack replied. "You'd think even a stickbug could remember that."

After stopping by Isabel's room Liz continued exploring the dorms until she came to the third floor common room and noticed that there were people there so she decided to go in, "hi," she said as she entered.

Katara sniffed it carefully and took a small sip. She tried very, very hard not to make a face. "...that's, um, bitter. What's the first most important substance?" And does it taste better, she wondered.

Katara smiled at the girl. "Hi," she replied. "I'm Katara."

"Of course! It's like a law or something," Jamie said whapping his hand on the table and creating a duplicate of himself.

"Run down to J'GOB's and pick up some food for us," he ordered to himself.

The duplicate rolled his eyes and headed out of the CR.

"I'm Liz," Liz said with a smile.

"Well you meerkats might be happy with foraging through moldy leftovers but I'd prefer something a little fresher," Jamie snarked. "How've you been Zack? Haven't seen you in a while."

"Some people prefer it with milk and sugar," Zack said, looking through the cupboards and refrigerator until he found some, which he put on the table, before resuming his search, eventually retrieving a large cardboard box. "Donuts, or sometimes pizza."

"Hey new girl," Jamie said with a wave. "What's shaking?"

"I've been back home in Michigan," Zack replied. "If my family didn't think I was a freak before, it took only the words 'I was nearly a troll love slave' to fix that."

Chris woke up and, after grabbing a shower and breakfast, decided to explore a little.

"Morning," he greeted, looking around and not seeing any familiar faces.

Jamie almost doubled over in laughter. "Well at least they didn't lock you up in mental ward."

Katara took a step back then craned her neck to look around Jamie to see if there were any more people standing there. "Where did he come from?"
