The Pool - A lazy Sunday afternoon 1/7

Annette was a little body sore from the water balloon silly string fight with Billy last night, so she thought a good soak in the pool would be worthwhile. And it was. She had a glass of something fruity to drink off to the side and just finished a chocolate bar.

As she leaned her head back against the edge, she closed her eyes and thought about the pink pony party. It was a lot of fun and the cupcakes were great. Nadia and Anders did a great job with the whole set-up. Annette had meant to find and ask Tori if she was having a good time, but got caught up in everything and never did get the chance. Plus she had to show Billy who was better at throwing water balloons. Who would have thought someone with only one eye could pound her so good? Not dirty.

So she was relaxing today. She deserved it.

Today, Cassie was actually going to take advantage of the pool while actually wearing a swimsuit.

...she just hoped nothing would get her upset at all. Because that would lead to embarassment.

She waved at the girl she'd not met before slipping into the water.

Annette had just finished taking a drink of her yummy fruit drink when a girl she had not yet met, entered the pool.

"Hey, I'm Annette. And the water feels wonderful today." She smiled.

"Hi, I'm Cassie," she said. "And yeah, I was down here the other night. I just felt the need to relax."

Cause what better way to relax from creepy Deadpool than going to a real pool?

"My first visit to the pool and my sentiments exactly. After the party last night all I wanted to do when I woke up this morning, was relax. The pool sounded perfect."

"Party?" Cassie asked. "I think I missed that."

"The evil pink pony awareness party. It was great, even though I never did see a pink pony." Annette smiled. "Although Pippi did bring along Old Man, her horse."

"I've not met her," Cassie said. "She's got a horse?"

She raised her brows. "Apparently. I'm a new student by the way. You?"

"Same," Cassie said. "I just came from New York last week."

"I'm from Kansas City. How are you adjusting to Fandom?"

"The weird stuff I've got a handle on," Cassie said. "The weirdest part is dealing with the small town."

"The weird I am handling too, so far. Toss a gremlin at me and I might freak." She nodded with a grin.

"I never considered that sort of adjustment. Doesn't seem to bother me too much other than feeling a twang of homesickness now and again."

"Yeah, I... don't have that," Cassie admitted. "But that's kinda a not fun subject if we're trying to relax."

"You're right...So, did you get all the classes you signed up for?"

"Actually, I ended up getting the three I wanted, and one I don't even remember signing up for," Cassie said.

"Really? That's good. And which one is that?" Annette thought Cassie might smack her in a minute if she didn't quit asking so many questions.

"Music is Love," Cassie said. "Which is okay, I guess, I mean I like music, just didn't think about signing up for it."

Annette grinned. "Well, hopefully you will like the class. I signed up for four and got them all."

"Great," Cassie said. She relaxed a bit and started floating on her back. "What year are you?"

"A junior." She replied, reaching for her glass again. "You?"

"Freshman," Cassie said. "School stuff kinda got screwed up the last couple months, for me."

"Oh? Sorry to hear about that." Annette would not ask. Sure, she'd like to know, she was curious like that. But Cassie might take offense to her prying.

"So what made you come here?" Cassie asked.

"My parents strong hand." She smiled a little. "They thought a change in schools would be best for me." Given what happened during my summer break.

"I had no choice in the matter."

"I didn't have a choice either," Cassie said. "Though my mom and stepdad really weren't part of the decision."

"They weren't? Who made you come here then, I mean, if you don't mind my asking."

"I don't mind," Cassie said. "It was my Dad's old boss, actually. But the circumstances were all... not fun."

"Okay, we won't go there then. No one wants to talk about not fun stuff unless you just want to." She gave Cassie a warm smile.

"I do hope everything is much better though."

Cassie shrugged. "It's all at home, and I'm here. So it's better cause I don't have to deal with it."

"Good. Same with me. I left everything at home. It's nice coming here where no one knows who I am or what I've been through. It's a fresh start, so to speak."

"Mine's not quite so fresh," Cassie said. "One of my friends from back home is here."

"Really? Who's that?" She asked.

"Teddy Altman?" Cassie said. "Blond, cute, kinda burly for sixteen?"

Annette thought. "Nope, I don't think I've met him yet. He a sophmore, junior?"

"Sophmore," Cassie said. "He's really sweet."

"Oh, well I hope I meet him. You two hang out a good bit then?"

"Yeah, at least we did back home. He came out here before I did, though," Cassie said. "So he's all more adjusted and stuff."

She smirked. "I'm starting to feel more adjusted myself. I have a great roommate though, so I know that has really helped. How's your roommate?"

Cassie made a bit of a face.

"They assigned me to room with a boy," she said.

"Yeah, I've heard they do that. How's that going so far?" Annette couldn't imagine really, rooming with a boy. Unless it was her boyfriend, and even then might be pushing it.
