By the Front Gates: 10:30ish [1-11-07]

Lana got out to the gates a little early to be sure she had enough time to stretch out well before she and Conner went running. It was chilly, but all-in-all not a bad day for running.

[OOC: For running with Conner, but feel free to stop by and chat while Lana's stretching out or ask to tag along as they they run.]

"Hey, Lana!" Conner was in good spirits this morning after finally catching up on class pings OMG, and already halfway through his warmups by the time he made it downstairs. He'd finally figured out about the right amount of warm clothing to wear for running in this weather. Of course it was red.

"Always ready to run," Conner said, going through a few last quick stretches before checking his shoelaces. "How are you today?"

"Hey, no problem. We can take it easy. We haven't gone running in a while, so it might be a good idea not to push it anyway." He frowned. "Especially with you just off the disabled list and everything."

"Maybe you're just getting it all out of your system for the next five years?" suggested Conner. Hey, he was going for the optimism. "Listen, if it starts to hurt at all? We'll stop and go back, and no big deal, okay?"

"You sure?" asked Conner, straightening up and getting ready to run. "It's not as much fun going alone. I really don't mind going back if I have to . . . and wow, your hometown must be as crazy as mine."

"Are you kidding?" Conner laughed as he set out. "We used to get attacked by bio-engineered reptiles on a regular basis."

"Fandom seriously attracts the people with the wild and funky lifestyles, doesn't it?" Seriously, the fact that both of them seemed to be taking those facts in stride (no pun intended) had to say something.

"So am I, now that I think about it," Conner replied. "That's kind of scary, isn't it?"

"I was totally normal until I found that gem. Then I had powers for a year, lost them again, got them back for a week, and lost everything but the speed again . . . which I'm not using when we run, because that would be mean." Conner stuck his tongue out at Lana. "Aw, come on, no way are those your only specialties!"

"Hey, that's fifty times more useful," Conner insisted. "I used to have to pull all-nighters sometimes just to pass my classes, and some days I'm lucky to find my socks."

"Then my tiny little bit of organize-fu finally gave out on me," Conner concluded. "Seriously, it's happened before!"

"There's a twelve-step program for that?" Conner asked between snickers.

"We might be doing tons of people a favor," Conner said solemnly. "Like if the laundry machines ever go on strike again. I mean, even normal laundry machines eat socks on a regular basis. I bet that really upsets some people."
