4th floor common room, Monday after Lunch

Having gone to the office to get her mini-vacation with Father approved, Ami sat down in the 4th floor common room to do a bit of reading. She had several College catalogs in front of her, and her computer was nearby for reference purposes. A large bowl of popcorn was on the floor where she could reach it.

There was nothing Cally could do to lessen Setsuna's worry at this point. She frowned deeply. "...When...did this happen? Where? Was it...here?"

Cally shook her head. "I was in California this weekend," she said. "Don't worry, the island is totally safe."

"Good," Setsuna, hand to chest, breathed a sigh of relief, but then sucked in another breath. "Not...that this happened, of course, but that...everyone else..." The worry overtook her expression again. "Oh, God, Cally..."

"Hey, keep this up and you'll get me all worried again," Cally said. "He's behind bars and thousands of miles away. And he kinda won't be forgetting what happened, either."

"That still doesn't make it okay that it happened," Setsuna said, frown still firmly in place. She told herself that, yes, Cally was safe and, yes, it happened well beyond her reach, but she couldn't help feeling terrible that one of her friends had gotten attacked and she hadn't been there to help or prevent.

Which only seemed to want to increase Setsuna's need to shutter. Cally seemed...disturbingly casual about it. She hoped, desperately, that it was still an aftereffect of the attack, a form of denial or bizarre natural coping mechanism.

"God, Cally." Setsuna wanted to hug her, but couldn't.

Cally hugged Setsuana tight. "I'm okay," she said, finally breaking down a bit and sniffling. "I really am, okay?"

Setsuna nodded against Cally's shoulder. "Okay," she said. "I know I couldn't be there for you then, Cally, but I'm here for you now, if you need me, got it?"

Setsuna wasn't entirely sure if she was comfortable talking about any of the details of the encounter, but she knew that talking about it could be beneficial to Cally, so she'd gladly listen to whatever she wanted to share.
