Second Floor Common Room, Monday evening

Jim wandered out to the common room with a bowl of candy - which included a few Canary Creams from the joke shop mixed in there - and turned on the second night of the season premiere of 60. There might be dead terrorists on the screen and there might be people turning into giant birds in the common room. No matter what, Jim figured he was going to be entertained tonight.

He couldn't help but wonder who was playing the one guy. "I know I've seen him in something. Oh! Wait! The stoner movie! The guy from the White Castle movie!" Jim was way too excited about figuring that out.

[OOC: Open as a common room tends to be. There are a handful of Canary Creams in the candy bowl. If you want to eat one, feel free. You'll be a giant canary for the span of a comment or so. And 60 is, of course, 24. Unless somebody directs me to a different meta for it.

Also, I'm American. I didn't know about any Australian politicians named John Howard. But meta-Bauer has a slight Australian accent Australia has a meta-Bauer accent because of it, okay?]

Number 6 wasn't going to go in the Common Room until he saw Him. The plant. The tall, slightly overweight mastermind genius with the hair. He decided to play it cool.

"Hello," 6 said. "Lovely evening we're having, don't you think?"

"Ahhh, right." Parker smirked. "So, you were aspiring to be the kind of hero who leaves a crater on the front lawn? Actually, there are a few of those already here."

"Well, it was a little messed up," Cassie said. "It was definitely being run by Deadpool. He's kinda insane."

Tyler tilted his head at Peter, thinking. "I don't usually ask this so fast, but have you ever been in a fight? Physically."

"Nothing explosive," Jim said. "Television, reading things, talking to myself. You know, the usual. Oh, and basketball. Big fan of that."

"Yeah, definitely," Jim said. "You're in my Home Ec class, right?"

"The point is it kills the time between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.," Tyler said. "And I don't need to change the channel after the crazy preacher signs off."

He shrugged. "I don't get a lot of sleep some nights."

"That because you know him or because of the Detention?" Peter asked.

"When the guy with the giant boomerang in the Crazy Carl movie threw it at John Howard, the boomerang came back because it was scared," Jim said.

Parker palmed her face. "I'm glad it worked out better than you becoming Flat Peter. You don't lack the ability to commit, I'll give you that. How's the flying thing going now?"

"I didn't think you'd even notice me. Yes, there I am, ready to learn every day. And yourself?" 6's powers of deceit weren't bad, but they did make him slightly sick. Ready to learn? Pft.

"Give enough time and there will be explosions," Jim said. "Just hang in there."

"I suppose." Parker grimaced. "My sleep patterns are erratic too. I usually manage seven or eight hours, if not at night. Thank God for late classes."

"They're usually called 'freedom fighters' and are remembered better by history," Jim said.

"Because I know him," Cassie said. "He calls me 'Nubile Young Avenger'. That's just not right."

"Talking to yourself's always a good time. I used to run a basketball team here at school," Tyler said. "It dried up at the end of the summer, but I could do some one-on-one sometime."

"Still no luck," Peter said. "Tried a few more times but it's just not happening. I've been staying lower to the ground though."

"Might help you see your destiny," Tyler said. "I have this theory, about physical violence kind of getting us past the bullshit of life. Clearing things up."

Parker waved and gave him a half-smile. "Hey, 6. HOw have you been?" Then she blinked at the TV screen. "Okay, seriously, they want him to team up with a terrorist?"
