Second Floor Common Room - Thursday Morning (Before Classes)

The giant pillow/blanket/chair fort of awesome was still up from last night. Thankfully, someone had turned the TV off so Rescued by the Alarm wasn't on anymore. Kawalsky had fallen asleep during that really bad murder mystery weekend episode where Zeke was in on it the whole time.

Worst episode ever.

He emerged from the fort and eyed the common room kitchenette. This situation called for pancakes. He got to it, being a pancake ninja and all.

"Pancakes! Get your pancakes."

[OOC: Free pancakes! Feel free to come in or say that you stayed there the whole night in the fort. I'll be here until I fall asleep.]

"Well, and eating," Katara said with a shrug. "But we used to go penguin sledding when we were kids!"

"You eat the penguins?" John frowned. "That's...different."

She put her hands on her hips. "You tell me what else there is to eat at the South Pole other than turtleseals and penguins, Cameron."

John blinked. "Not Cameron! I'm John. We look alike."

"Oh!" Katara blushed a lot. "I'm sorry! You do look completely alike. Are you brothers?"

"Nope," John said, shrugging the mistake off. "We just look really alike. There's a couple of people like that around here. It's just a thing, I guess."

"It could be worse," Katara said. "You could look like someone absolutely horrible and have people wanting to kill you all the time or end up nekkid in a closet like Seely."

"That's happened before," he said. "People wanting to kill me."

Katara crossed her arms. "Did you make them angry?"

"Uh, not really," he said. "They seem to come to this place with the intent to hurt people for no good reason."

"They do that at my home too," Katara said with a bit of a frown. "But the same people all the time. Not different groups like here."

"What's your name, Penguin Girl?"

"Katara," she said, laughing. "But I'm totally going to be Penguin Girl forever now."

"Penguin Girl sounds good to me," John said. "Glad you like it. And good to meet you."

"It could have been a lot worse," she agreed. "Good to meet you too."

"How's the school for you so far?"

"It's strange," she said with a shrug. "All the teachers are focused on fake names or lying."

"That bothers you?"

"Maybe if they would tell why fake names are necessary?" she said.

"Pretending is fun, sometimes."

She gave him an 'uh-HUH' look. "Like when?"

"Like whenever," he said. "It doesn't hurt anyone and you know who you really are. Pretending to be something else won't change that."
