Second Floor Common Room - Thursday Morning (Before Classes)

The giant pillow/blanket/chair fort of awesome was still up from last night. Thankfully, someone had turned the TV off so Rescued by the Alarm wasn't on anymore. Kawalsky had fallen asleep during that really bad murder mystery weekend episode where Zeke was in on it the whole time.

Worst episode ever.

He emerged from the fort and eyed the common room kitchenette. This situation called for pancakes. He got to it, being a pancake ninja and all.

"Pancakes! Get your pancakes."

[OOC: Free pancakes! Feel free to come in or say that you stayed there the whole night in the fort. I'll be here until I fall asleep.]

"Did he walk around in a fishbowl?" Cameron couldn't help but ask.

"He had a giant tank converted for himself," Mel replied seriously. "The floor you walked on was his glass ceiling. Perv kept asking me to show up in a skirt."

Cameron blinked. "Well, that's different I suppose. Sounds like an interesting world."

"It has it's moments," Mel replied with a grin. "The poverty sucks but there's always a good time someplace."

"Poverty always sucks," he decided. "Is it worse than in this time?"

[identity profile] cantjossme.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Where I'm from? Yeah, I guess." Mel replied. "People have to do everything they can to scrape by usually."

Cameron frowned. "And you're from our future? Or a completely different kind of world?"

[identity profile] cantjossme.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Future, I think. Or at least the same future as Dawn and Buffy," Mel replied.

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh. You're from the same world as they are? Do you know what happened to set things back?"

[identity profile] cantjossme.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Mel shrugged. "Same old story really. Rich got richer. Poor got more so. Plus the population just kept getting bigger."

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"That sucks," he frowned and shook his head. "Sorry, didn't mean to get all depressing. So what brought you back into the past?"

[identity profile] cantjossme.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Bunch of jerks who set themselves on fire sent me back here," Mel grumped. "I have to do something here to 'reconnect with my destiny' or something toy like that."

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Your destiny? That's a bit heavyhanded," he blinked.

[identity profile] cantjossme.livejournal.com 2007-01-18 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. Apparently I'm one of these chosen people destined to fight the vampires, demons and yadda, yadda, yadda. Unfortunately I'm missing some kind of link to the past slayers so..."

Mel did a gesture with her hands to make it seem like she was doing magic. "I'm here."

"That's... interesting," he finished lamely. "There's worse places to get stuck."
